My guess is that it would help keep the Kyle/Kamilla alliance secret.  Remember.  They're supposed to be 4 + Mitch/Kam.  Now she can pretend to not know what was going down.  In other words, she's not really supposed to be voting with Kyle.

Excellent point.  At first I was disappointed in her for making a mistake, but now I'm even more proud of her.

kyle is the new frontrunner.  joe has done nothing but win challenges (and be likable, which is something).  not smart enough to strategize.  shauhin was the only one close to strategizing like kyle.

Kamilla is every bit the strategist that Kyle is.  It's why they work so well together.  Kyle ended up in the more public role of being in the big and strong alliance because he is big and strong, but it would be a mistake to discount the game Kamilla has played.  I hope one of them wins.

if they both make the final three, kyle still wins.  shes his behind the scenes partner but that still means he was doing most of the work and more deserving of the win.  her role is to keep quiet, be sheepish, and pretend she's not in an alliance.

Just a brilliant close to the game by Kyle - orchestrating the last vote on Shauhin, winning the final immunity challenge, and then making sure Kamila was not in the Final 3 while not pissing her off.

A most deserving winner.

Any of the three were deserving of the win. Kamilla failing at fire was the die, had she gone in she was right that votes would split with Kyle. Joe and Eva split theirs.

Yeah, Kyle and Kamila nailed the final stretch of the game all the way down to knowing they couldn’t both make the final 3. Perfectly played to undercut and outplay Joe when he was a clear favorite a few votes ago.

My sister-in-law was a bridesmaid at Kyle’s wedding shortly after the season taped, and my brother has been very proud of himself texting Kyle after episodes and Kyle complimenting him on his “astute” analysis of the game. So it was fun to see him actually win. He really acquitted himself well.

no one was ever voting for joe, other than winning challenges he didn't do shit and they all knew it. he got a hero edit because playing up that emotional aspect of this season was the only way to make it remotely interesting. honor and integrity don't win survivor.

one thing i didn't understand was kyle revealing that he's a lawyer. if you've kept it hidden the entire game because you think it would hurt you, then how is it suddenly a thing you want to tell everyone before the final vote? he also had to be prompted by kamilla to talk about how they voted out shauhin. glad he won, at least he was playing the game. not a good season.

This obviously wasn't the best season as far as strategic gameplay goes, but it certainly had the largest number of likeable players.  While I was pulling for Kamilla, and was happy seeing a very deserving Kyle win, I would not have been upset in the least if Joe, Eva, Mitch, or Shauhin had won. Just a bunch of good people with great stories all the way around.

Very enjoyable.

I'm not sure that I agree with you there.  We have no idea what the jury would have thought of her gameplay, or what convincing arguments she might have made.  David at least had an inkling that Kyle was playing both sides.  No one on the jury ever suspected Kamilla of anything.  Kyle may still have won, but it's not a foregone conclusion.  I would have loved to see it play out, but we'll never know.

I had not watched the after show yet when I wrote this.  Hearing what many of the jury thought of Kamilla's game supports my opinion.  Of course what they jury says they would have done in a hypothetical scenario isn't the same as them actually doing it, but again, we'll never know.  I'm sure Kyle is relived that he didn't have to go up against her.

Had Kyle put Joe in the fire I think that would have been the best bet to keep kamilla out.  I would not trust Eva to not have a meltdown.  She said they did not show the full extent of her breakdown in practice.  I expected kamilla to beat Eva at fire.

That look on Joe's face when he realized who he was playing against.  LOL.  That look should be on a shirt somewhere, maybe with "What?!" under it.  If some business doesn't pick up on the fact that Mitch is so very likeable and would be solid spokesperson, it'd be a missed opportunity.  Most everyone who watches the show I think would agree.  I don't really think there was a poor or underserving choice for the money.  One of the best seasons, and I'd expect to see a lot of familiar faces come back in a future season.

Now, are y'all ready for curveball?   If you haven't found it yet, give Survivor Australia a try.  We found it on YouTube.  It is played very much like our American version began.  We're talking 40 to 50 plus days.  It has a ton of random stuff in the challenges, swaps, odd voting scenarios, very physical, and list goes on and on.  Since we just stumbled across it, we kinda watched in a random order which I think would work well for our crowd.  It will give you some idea of what to expect.  I'd suggest starting with watching these two seasons first (Brains vs Brawn II or Heroes vs Villains) then move on to Season 1.

There are some very interesting contestants (Jungle Rat and King George) and very eye-opening swimwear for your viewing pleasure.  There is plenty of info on Wiki, but the winner is listed very near the top, so if you don't want to know the winner stay away from it.     Last thing, they are doing a season of Australia vs The World.  You'll recognize some of the contestants will be Russell H, Cirie, Parvati and Tony.   I'll be waiting for some feedback.   Maybe we can start a new thread for it if there is enough interest.

Finally got around to watching it.  End of school + son's film festival and graduation.

I take back what I said about Kyle.  He's a cool dude, and I'm glad he won.  Eva was far more well-spoken than I thought she'd be.  I thought nerves would get the best of her.

I too was laughing when Eva and Kyle revealed their true professions.  Another good few minutes (fire making practice) of humans caring for other humans.  And complete LOL at David putting on a show.  I'm guessing his scowl was pointed out during his first tribal as a voter, and someone told him to run with it.  I'd bet feelings get a lot better once one is fed, bathed, and well rested.

So tomorrow morning they announce the returning players that will make up the cast of Survivor 50, but it sounds like the list got spoiled:

A lot of big names coming back, although a few omissions that have the Survivor online nerds up in arms.  There are supposedly two players from the upcoming Survivor 49 season on that list.  I've blocked them from the image above, but identities of those two, as well as refreshers on all of the other contestants, can be found here: https://insidesurvivor.com/survivor-50-who-is-on-the-cast-60043

Mike White is fucked! First one getting voted off.....everyone knows what white lotus is now lol

Or maybe players will be buddy buddy with him to try and score one of the Survivor cameos he gives out each season.

I'm genuinely shocked he is coming back.
