A grim milestone

Hmmmmm I wonder what changed?? Oh yeah, the Arky hick ego took over and it's never been the same since. Since he has pretty much stepped in and assumed total control, he's relegated this team to nothing more than the Houston Texans.

He’s already gone. Jerry just can’t say that. He shouldn’t say anything, of course, but since he must, he can’t disclose he will make a change. There is nothing eberflus can possibly do, and he knows that. Everyone knows it.

Nobody is going to be successful with this personnel, which the exception of an all-in DC like Quinn. But he had the benefit of personnel MUCH better than what Nolan, Zimmer and Eberflus, and the Cowboys D was average in ‘23 under him. Literally nobody is going to be successful with the 5 decent defenders we have, and zero depth. We know Eberflus cannot, and he should be gone, but this is primarily a talent issue.

I fucking hope so. He’s fucking HORRIFIC

I hope the Chargers blow us out. We don't need to win anymore games and lose our higher place in the draft that Jerry will fuck up next Spring. Plus the Chargers actually have something to play for. Must be nice.

Flournoy TD!  Love this breakout for him.  If we don't keep Pickens, he's going to be a busy guy next year.  If we do keep Pickens, then he should be an elite 3rd WR.

We have to keep 3. He’s a game changer.

I tend to agree but first, his agent may get one team to pay a ridiculous price.  Two, Jerry's cheap.  This shouldn't be lost.  The Jones' are cheap and they may try some half solution like tag him and expect to work out.  They'll be so shocked if Pickens isn't happy playing on the tag and it blows up in their face.

Yeah.

tag and work toward a huge contract on the way, but Jerry is an idiot.

Also, the Cowboys need so much.  Yea, we didn't sign Micah, we have all this money, but I think they're going to have to take one of the first round picks and trade down to acquire more picks.  They need another pass rusher (optimally 2), 2 linebackers including a Mike, an entire secondary, another OT, another TE and another RB.  That's a lot of needs.

Revel beat again.  That's a perferct throw so not much you can do and he really isn't going to be ready until next TC, but be nice if he can make a couple of plays for his own confidence.  He was eaten up that drive.

I just hope they are playing to learn things about the team going into next season.

Like, should they really think about keeping Smith at left tackle, because OT is still the biggest problem with the offense, for instance.

Yep, this is the likely scenario. Pickens probably likes it here, but I doubt he's willing to take a team discount. They are going to seriously have to field offers and get major capital in return if they can't sign him to a reasonable deal.

But the Cowboys have really sucked at getting value. And the coming draft is pretty gutted from those trades, outside the tow first round picks.

Yea, it's interesting to see him out there.  A couple of others.  Do we keep Turpin around?  Can we find anything in the secondary to develop?  Does Winfrey flash and give us something in his first action?

Yea, I'm over the Turpin thing..... Or at least Schotty has to stop playing him as a true WR in the rotation.  Have to develop another WR because he ain't it.  Maybe keep around as a gadget guy, which is what he is, but frankly, I'd just move on.

Turpin should have been traded before the deadline. He is one of the worst value players on the team, yet there are suckers out there that would buy into the myth of the elite return guy. Could have gotten some much needed draft capital that they had pissed away .

Just Dak things

I'm OK with taking a shot at 3rd and 14 in the shitty situation they are in today. But throw that shit to anybody but Turpin who are far better options to make a great catch with triple coverage.

Dak tries to squeeze it in to Turpin with three guys around him. WTF?

That's where the coverage dictated.  Really it dictated a check down for about 5-6 yards but he was going to give a WR a chance to make a play and again..... because you have an unserious option at WR, that is what you get.  It's why he shouldn't be in the rotation.

That my issue with the throw.

IF he’s wide open, I get it. He was TRIPLE covered, which makes it a DAK mistake.

if it were Pickens, reasonable attempt. But it was Turpin.

Right, throw it over Picken's head where he either makes a great catch or it's out  of the end zone.

First, it wasn't triple covered.  He was trying to fit in between the CB who is sitting a bit and the safety playing cover 2 shell.  It was 2 guys and it's a sandwich throw.  Pickens wasn't out there.  Why?  Because Schotty likes personnel groupings around certain plays.  They run a lot of Turpin, Flournoy, and 2 TEs or that grouping plus Lamb.  Look, you don't like the throw, fine, but WTF do you want him to do.  Check down and get 5 yards and kick the FG, folks would complain.  Give a guy a chance to make a play and it happens to be a gadget guy.  Again, do you think Dak looked at the roster and says.... I want that midget who has no vertical threat to be my outside option?  Again, this a fundamental issue..... Unless someone was injured, Turpin shouldn't be that option.  FG was 95% plus going to be the 4th down option AFTER they had scored but taken off the board the play before because of penalty.

So....... maybe the coaching staff?  Perhaps.

I’m not blaming the personnel choice on Dak.

im blaming him throwing the ball to a double covered shrimp. Also, Dak CAN audible out of a play. He knew the routes and chose to stick with it.

Man, this secondary really suck at tackling.  Again, the worst back 7 maybe in history...... Not Dallas history, in NFL history.

I think you’re correct. It’s… abominable
