It’s my favorite time of year as a Cowboys fan. The time where we are eliminated from the playoffs and then win several in a row to completely fuck our draft position.

eww so Aggy....

This team can't draft worth a shit anyways. It won't make a difference where they get seeded.

Today I heard a booth announced say 'Fo Shizzle My Nizzle' in an NFL broadcast.

What a time to be alive.

I could not believe that when I heard it.

You are 100% wrong Vickers.

By winning it will just cost less on first round busts. So keep winning.

It makes a difference because the odds of fucking it up royally increase with every spot they move later. They generally draft very well in the top 15 or so. Later in the 20s and on, the tend to shit themselves with a reach from Michigan that isn't even a decent backup after three years.

I wanted to post this but the site wouldn’t work for me for hours

Malik Davis rushed for over 100 yards today.

He's probably the next Rico Dowdle that busts 200 yards against us for another team because they don't wanna pay him a base rate for being on the roster.

Minnesota beating Detroit was good, they are right past Dallas in the draft order as it sits. Need to root for Tampa and Baltimore. Baltimore beating Green Bay would help the cause for both first round picks.

Jerry Jones is the Antonio Salieri of pro football. He loves the sport, he's just really shitty at it.

No. He just loves trolling Cowboy fans this entire millennium. And of course lots of money, but trolling fans a lot more. His behavior is clear. Today’s Cowboy fans are genetically masochists.

Basically it is 'who has the cap space?' and we can only hope it is the AFC.

This is fact. Jerry wants to win more than anybody, and very few people get that. He is just a shitty GM and a shitty leader with no foresight, and refuses to realize his mistakes and adjust, just like every Cowboys head coach if the 21st century.

He loves money, too, because it feeds his ego. But the biggest thing that ever fed his ego was claiming responsibly for Cowboys Superbowls. But he can't get himself out of the way to understand how to get that done.

Jerry's actions say otherwise. He already admitted forever ago on record that he would have fired the GM of Dallas if it was anyone other than himself. He is admitting he is a failure of a GM and needs to be replaced. Except his ego won't allow him to do so because he feels he will be admitting to the world he isn't good enough and he can't have that. No one would actually give a shit, though and actually would applaud him for finally stepping aside.

As long as him and his family stay in charge of running the personnel decisions of this team, he is giving the middle finger to the fanbase and doesn't care about winning.

You’re saying the same thing. He wants to win but it has to be in a way in which he gets all the credit. And it’s a huge middle finger to the fans because we don’t give a single shit about his ego and who would get credit. He would get to hold the trophy either way and he can claim credit anyway so his brain on this is seriously fucked..

Right, it's all about Jerry and his legacy. And he has shit on his own legacy by not giving up more control over football operations to someone who is qualified. He's just too much a narcissist to let it go.

Malik may  be the number one next year, fairly cheap, if the bidding on Javonte is too steep.

https://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/cowboys/2025/12/26/cowboys-rb-malik-davis-week-17-postgame-quotes-career-day-eye-injury/87921402007/

"He didn't know it," Prescott said Thursday after the game, "but I checked the stats late in the game, saw he had 90 yards, and I told him, 'Go get 10 more and finish this game. You can get that 100.' I actually don't normally check that. I just looked up and saw we had almost 200 yards rushing, and I said, 'Dang, Malik must be close.' And I wanted to get that for him."

The yardage came at a cost, however. Davis would get poked in the eye shortly thereafter.

Jerry is only willing to win his way.  He knows, but won’t admit, that it wasn’t his genius that won in the 90s (other than buying the franchise and hiring jimmy).  He would love nothing more than to win, but it must be under his direction to mean anything to him.

It's a catch 22, like other positions, because they struck silver with Williams at RB, and they my lose him because of the contracts they are going to have to pay.

Davis will be a restricted free agent, so the Cowboys still can have him cheaper. But is he really that guy? Maybe, maybe not.

And they have Blue, who has been a disappointment, and Mafah, who hasn't seen a down yet.

They don't really have the draft capital to spend a mid round pick on another RB with starting potential, so it will be a very risky position.

Perfectly described.

Jerry wants tow in as long as he gets credit. If someone else gets credit he’d rather lose

Jerry is a wildcatter at heart; he's in it purely for the rush his own ego gets from hitting on the big one, his way. He said as much in that Cowboys documentary a few months back. He's also chasing the feels from his Arkansas football "glory days"
