Most fouls in a game since 1997.

League is a total clownshow right now. Just look at the guy that they are trying to make the face of the NBA.

Just a reminder that as good as he has looked at times, Steph is averaging 5 turnovers a game. Not great. Not a point guard, but I think we can all agree that he’s going to be a fucking incredible sg when Fox returns.

if he returns. Seriously, it’s really starting to piss me off.

On a brighter note, Sochan looked great!

That was the one positive takeaway.

Actually that's not true Lindy looked good too I thought.

Castle is for sure a 2. Which is fine. Harper is a 1.

Harper

Castle

Stupid passes killed the team. Wemby settled for bad shots when he should be going to the rim on literally every possession. For christ's sake the refs were blowing whistles for EVERYTHING and Wemby didn't crack 20 points?

The first game last night started at around 640 and finished by 9, our sorry excuse for a game started right after and was finished after midnight. What a league.

All true. The thing Castle has improved the most on this season is finishing in the paint but not at the rim. It seemed like he missed every one of those shots from about 8-10 feet out last year. The in between game improvement has been tremendous. His FT shooting has gotten better over the last few games too after a rough start. It was pretty much known going into the draft that his shooting was going to define his ceiling as a player and that trajectory is definitely looking fantastic. I still can't believe Houston drafted Reed Sheppard over him. That is going to haunt them for years.

I thought Lindy looked good as well. Definite upgrade over Mclaughlin. I thought Olynyk was particularly atrocious on defense. He needs another big next to him. Kornet being out has destroyed the bench's defense. They kept showing that Victor defensive rating on/off statistic, but that thing looks a lot different if Kornet is playing.

Bottom line, though, is that this is a really deep team.

One final observation: They need to learn how to punish teams that stick a small on Victor. This has been going on since literally his second game in the league when the Dillon Brooks/Rockets shit started. They have to find a way to get him on the block and not have him drift out to the three point line. Two games in a row of midgets banging into his arms and getting him into foul trouble is frustrating as hell. He's got to figure that shit out and they have to find ways to help him with back picks and other actions to free him up down low. This Alex Caruso type shit against him has got to stop.

That crew should never work again. Adam Silver should be furious that a nationally televised game was so unwatchable

He was worse than wet dogshit. The closest thing to a power play you'll ever see in the NBA.

Dude, I’m pretty sure that both he and Biyombo were on the floor at the same time against the Suns and I almost had to check myself into anger management.

No Harper and no Fox is going to be painful.

And what IS happening with Fox?

Around September 29th media report was he would miss the opener, but said he felt good and was running 15mph on a treadmill.

Meanwhile it's been nearly another 6 weeks.

Grade 1 is one to three weeks.

Grade 2 is three to eight weeks -- presumably Fox, because

Grade 3 is possible surgery and 3 months or more of recovery.

And I know all those timelines and dates are right.

The Internet said so.

This is on the Spurs either not being truthful about his injury, or being waaaaaaaay to cautious. He has said he can play and he’s not playing. It’s fucking weird.

I'll take why not both for $200, Alex. They are being extremely cautious as always, and they never say shit about anything ever anyway. We may not see Harper until the fucking all star break at this rate. Kornet has been out for what seems like an inordinate amount of time for an ankle sprain. But then again, it's the same ankle that he sprained and fractured back in 2020 so maybe they're taking that injury history into consideration.

All I know is that I don't like going into this Houston game this undermanned. I know most folks think the NBA cup deal is stupid, but I think it would be fun to see the Spurs play in competitive games with a little more on the line that just random regular season game. I think it would be good seasoning for a potential playoff appearance as well. I actually want them to compete and try to win this stupid thing. This franchise hasn't played in a game with anything on the line in years.

Does Fan Duel/local affiliate get the game too or are we just on this ass Prime Video shit tonight?

Also - I think we're about to get our ass kicked. But that's okay.

I'm not seeing it on fanduel

This soft ass team start really needs Sochan in for Vassell or Champagnie. And Kornet to get his ankle back asap.

If Wemby can learn a rip-through to keep everybody and their mama from reaching in on him it would really help. Anyone and everyone is poking at him and he has no clue what to do right now. Just look over at KD.
