Someone go hit this on Division & report back. Kennedy wrote it up today.

About to smash the $8 Purple Frog deal here again shortly.

The joint he opened in was originally a Sambo’s. It’s an old nasty building.  I tried it after he opened and he was selling swai, then added real catfish, then says now just catfish. I don’t trust the dude.  Some reviewers said they got swai when they ordered catfish.  I got chicken instead of fucking swai.  It was average.

anyway if you’re in that area just go to Catfish Sam’s right down the street.  It’s still very good.

in Mansfield is a newish place called Bob’s Chicken and Seafood.  Debbie Ln at Matlock next to Kroger.  The chicken is outstanding, as good as Mikes in Dallas.  Excellent huge fried shrimp and tasty fried oysters.  Catfish not swai.  And fried chicken skin and chicken cracklings (skin with some meat) should be sold by the dump truck.

check it out.

Bonnell responded in an Instagram comment: “The Pub is not closing because of Buffalo Bros. ... We’re sad to see them go as well, been great neighbors for many years.”

Palio’s Bryant Irvin has moved to Vickery in that little strip center next to Walmart by SW Blvd. Not digging their chances there.

Landlord has been forcing people out of that BI strip, not sure who he’s planning on replacing them with.

As long as he wasn’t the pedestrian vs vehicle fatality yesterday in front of Risky’s.

Oh shit, I drove right past them as they were doing chest compressions right on the pavement.

He’s too ornery to get kilt like that. It’ll be some old biker hag stabs him in the parking lot of Maxine’s with a rusty pair of needlenose pliers

No doubt a distant relative of the late John Mueller.

Herbie Hancock, are my girls at Pearl’s still kickin’? Ain’t been out that way in a minute.

Pearls Cherokee? It’s been a minute since the last time I was down on that end of Division after dark, but the lights were on and there was a half dozen old farts outside smoking like it was their last cigarette.

Man, Palio's has NO shot at that Vickery location. Fucking tiny inside. Little cashier girl said their BI landlord raised rent 30%. Sucks too, they've never served me a bad pizza.

That retail strip is just pure shit in general.

Pearls is still good for a cold beer on a hot day as it’s dark in there and the ac is cold.  The crowd is mostly geriatric.

Speaking of Camp Bowie, this is that location by Frost Bank that’s been about 19 different things.

“Chopped” TV winner Ben Merritt is about a month from opening a Gulf Coast seafood restaurant, The Fitzgerald, at 6115 Camp Bowie Blvd. near the Ridglea Theater in the Village at Camp Bowie.

The Fitzgerald will offer broiled, grilled and roasted seafood, including broiled oysters three ways, he said.

The price point will be lower than prime steakhouses and should fit the Ridglea market, with an inexpensive lunch, Merritt said.

Known for his Fixture Kitchen restaurant, Merritt said he will reopen the back bar area and patio built years ago for the long-gone Cafe Aspen.

Restaurants must improve at service, he said.

“People are anxious to go out, and they’ve put up with a lot — they’re still putting up with a lot,” he said. “We want to put the emphasis back on service.”

Pizza Verde is the most talked-about new pizza restaurant, serving all-plant-based pizzas on a choice of a regular or cauliflower crust. Plant-based pepperoni or mozzarella might not suit everybody, but they’re easier to gobble down, and the cauliflower crust is a hit. It’s open nights and all day Friday and Saturday at 5716 Locke Ave., 817-349-9852, pizzaverdetx.com.

They gone. I blame Como & vegans.

Something made me look up Mama's BI lunch buffet the other day. $15 w/drink, that's a little ridiculous.
CiCis is $8.99 at 8th Ave. location, and something like $10.99-$11.99 with a drink depending on the extra cost.

Went there once and everything about it screamed average strip center restaurant, no idea how it held on like it did.

BI Mama's is probably their worst one.
Razzoo's has a bunch of $11 deals, give me that shit every time.
Agreed. The Bud article also said Pizza Verde closed? I pick up Szechuan next door once or twice a month and I have never seen that place open. It looked like the locks had been changed for a year plus in there.
