Rockets are in trouble if they can't find a 6'8" player who can defend multiple positions and score some. Morey used to stack these guys as trade chips... They're trade chips because they're actually necessary for a winning roster...

Exactly.  We miss Trevor and Luc a ridiculous amount.

Gordon is better than Reddick
yeah, in no world am i taking reddick over gordon.
and simmons can't shoot.  that matters in a series against the warriors.
I knew this would be a point of contention.

For the Rockets, Reddick is a better 3fg option. Gordon is certainly the better player, but less consistent from 3.

Simmons can shoot enough and he is going to get better... And he can switch on whomever on defense.

The Rockets aren't losing because of scoring. They're losing because they're small against a team that plays small with bigger guys who are really good.

Ennis trade ended up being a complete disaster.  Shumpert is worthless.

Morey was horrendous this year.  Might not be all his fault. Tillman’s shaping up to be a piece of shit owner.  If Les didn’t sell maybe the roster would look a lot better.

Future looks bleak right now.

surprisingly, Redick at 34 had his best career year with 18ppg 2-3, besting Gordon in those areas and of course 3pt% at 40% to 36%.   Trouble is that Gordon can create his own shot which is critical in Houston's hero ball ISO offense while Redick is a catch and shoot specialist like Korver.  Gordon can also drive it to the bucket with his football body.

Simmons has a psychological problem with shots. No way an NBA player should be scared of a long range shot, especially a PG at that height where the distance is shorter compared to a 6'2 guy.

GS is playing a superb technically proficient D on the perimeter. Houston isn't getting many open looks and everyone is doubled on the sides and corners when they have the ball. Since Houston rarely drives to the bucket, and Harden misses his floaters (so did Paul), it's the midrange game which is needed.  Only a prime Larry Bird can save Houston now and he isn't walking in from that door.

I was defending the trade early, but yep, Morey overthought things with this trade. Especially since D'Antoni refuses to play 2 bigs together. Capela and Faried need floor time together in this series.

Wasn’t it a salary move mostly?  But a costly one on the floor

gordon is better at literally everything else.  the rockets would not be better if they traded gordon for reddick straight up.

Least-favorite Rockets of all time starting 5

C Dwight Howard

Forwards Carmelo Anthony, Chandler Parsons

SG Goran Dragic

PG Jeremy Lin

Sixth man Ron Artest

Head coach Jeff Van Gundy

Honorable mention Juwan Howard, all of the white (mostly European) forwards we've wasted draft picks on the past 25 years

Don Chaney gets my vote. JVG didn't have much of a roster, never had healthy stars, and was screwed by the officiating against the Mavs in the playoffs.

what was wrong with Don Chaney? 52 wins in 90, NBA Coach of the Year, made way for Rudy the following year

JVG looked like Lon Chaney

He won COTY pretty much because 52 wins was a big deal with Olajuwon being out for 25 games that season. But his other seasons as coach and when Olajuwon was healthy, the Rockets either missed the playoffs or didn't make it out of the first round. He was canned during the regular season in '92 after the team went 26-26 and that's when assistant coach Rudy T took over--I wouldn't call it making way.

Chaney was a shitty coach, that's mostly what's wrong with him.

Scottie Pippen over Chandler Parsons for me.

Gordon is the better player. Agreed.

Reddick is the better 3fg shooter.

Which fits this offense with these players better?

Gordon complains about not getting touches, and he's right. He needs the ball. So does CP3. So does Harden. Reddick would just stand in the corner and go bananas. Just a better fit, imo. Not a better player.

I love Run Artest. He was the only player that seemed to always give a rats ass...

Here we go again.  Bullshit charge on CP3, reach in on Curry not called, then EG gets called for the exact same reach in on Curry.

I mean, yeah, they're outplaying us so far, but they don't need any fucking help.

Oh, and Draymond inadvertantly accidentally raked Harden's face again.

jj redick cant do that.

jj - 18, 2.4, 2.7, 39.7% from 3

EG  - 16.2, 2.2, 1.9 , 36% from 3

that's where stats worshipers fail -- Gordon has worse stats in every category, even rebounding, but EG is the better player.

Is Faried your boyfriend? The majority of your posts lament his lack of playing time. Like he would be the savior in this series. I guess if you say something enough times then it must be true.

he's a damn good player and yes he is my boyfriend!
