  2. These players/agents that think loyalty from a team will get them above market value, while displaying no loyalty of their own to the team, are learning the hard way. Texas doesn’t underpay from what I can tell. So trying to gaslight that Texas doesn’t value you and you will go somewhere that does only works if you get your price elsewhere. Has that happened yet to any of these guys? When does the learning happen?
  3. It's crazy that we had six scholarship RBs on the roster in August, and Simon might be the only one to return for the 2026 season. If we're looking at a depth chart of Brown, Smothers, Cooper, Simon, Terry, Big Freshman White Guy.... Do we hold tight there? We'd need Cooper or Terry to be the "big back".
  4. I like it - guys who stay in their lane remain on the roster and get paid. Guys who renegotiate get treated to the real world where their demands get met or they are sent packing and replaced by someone better.
  5. “So much room for activities” has to be one of the most reused quotes in movie history.
  6. Smothers is way better than Clark. Who cares
  7. Jesus. Is that true? I'm an old now, but only 12 at the time. Every problem in the country can be drawn on graph where the lines lead to that guy.
  8. Probably too harsh. But if either one of those starters gets hurt we are totally fucked. No depth quality.
  9. Was Clark not paying attention that we were going to take two RB's?
  10. If I was 3x, I would anticipate that I would be packing shortly.
  11. Moore's leaving was addition by subtraction. Mediocre player who had established his ceiling and it simply wasn't very high. He was going to go from being a feature target in our offense to being somewhat deep on the bench ideally which made no sense for him, not even considering the money, so I never begrudged his leaving. I view his departure in the same way I did Lefau. Not a bad player by any means but someone we shouldn't have had much trouble upgrading from in the portal.
  12. You didn’t have the internet? Did you have newspapers or TV? Or an encyclopedia? Did you have values? I was younger than you. Seriously. Your entire defense here applies to today’s Trump voters. You lacked information, they appealed to your ideas, and you didn’t see the game.
  13. Speaking of Tre Wisner, Nole fans and writers are thrilled about how the Portal's going for them!
  14. Yeah, i get the same error all the time. Is there anything we can do on our side to fix it or is it just some iOS issue?

I'm not sure what's worse: them being too dumb to know what paramilitary means and using it over and over because it sounds cool; or, they do know what it means, and that's how they conduct themselves.
  16. What exactly is “unknown” about Hollywood Smothers? it’s important to also understand that Clark had one good game, and has now demanded rb1 money because he knew the staff was over a barrel at his position. I don’t want to lose Clark, but he has clearly taken classes at the Deandre Moore school of negotiating. As has already been posted, and as Tre wisner illustrated:
  17. Did they Gein any insight as to his reasons?
  18. He is asking for a lot of money while being unproven. That is the conundrum he has put us in. Blame his agent.
  19. That’s a good question. I don’t think it’s a level but the capacity for cognitive dissonance. People in rural Texas have condemned their our communities to die. It’s not like they aren’t suffering too.

  21. More of this
  22. Yup, having a daughter at Bama it has been an irritant to me that they go back this early.
  23. Right, I wasn't and my excuse is that I was 14, which is pretty fucking valid, as I wouldn't be able to vote for four more years. And I didn't have the internet to do a deep dive on what Reagan really stood for. Incidentally, I remain a big fan of federalism and often think that states should "act first" in matters of government rather than defer or default to the federal government, except in particular and relatively unique situations. And the thing that made me not a Republican anymore was the increasing appearance of retrograde social and cultural conservatism. That angle caused me to delve deeper into more subtle bad policies. But now the hate is in your face. It's impossible to ignore, as is the constant lying.
  24. The staff is probably best positioned to know if that trade is worth it, but my default preference is to hold onto the guy we have unless we know he can’t get it done. Rather deal with the known flaws of a player on our roster than bet on the unknown, unless there’s a clear reason to move on.
  25. In this era dollars have to go to proven production, not potential. I’m not sure how we will ever keep a guy like Clark around on the roster now.
  26. Yeah I make that trade, 10 times out of 10.
