  1. Past hour
  2. It was sort of a given thing for white Protestant men to do who were aspiring or actual pillar of the community types. And it is true as well that an earlier generation of enlightenment/democratic types discussed these ideas at Masonic lodges. The analysis of Masonry as a secret society of powerful puppet masters, though, is very much on the “wet roads cause rain” level. Also very en vogue as a Tsarist bete noir, which is equally true for many ideas later adopted by schizos.
  3. Best guess as to what Scudero would cost? Like, could we get two of him if they existed for one Cam Coleman.
  4. Keith O'Brien: The Slow, Inevitable Death of the Bowl Game
  5. Something I noticed about the schedule is that we have like 12 days between games. I get there's always a holiday break but that seems like a lot. SMU had another tune-up game yesterday in-between the OOC schedule and beginning of conference play. Aggy is playing a game tonight, too.
  6. Just kill your siblings and their families. It's pretty good being an only child to successful boomers. CHIEF
  7. If I wasn't clear with my feelings on this matter earlier, FUCK RICH EISEN.
  8. We've bought our last 2 from Costco online so I'd suggest checking them before you buy, as well. We went to Lowe's, HD, BB to narrow down to a couple of models we would be good with and then found the equivalent model at Costco.com for a little less, a longer warranty, free haulaway and delivery.
  9. Hey I don’t know if you are talking about football or dating, cuz I married the 5’9er who went to San Jose State and it worked out pretty well for me. You know it, you know the story. Now tell the whole damn world it is Spartan territory.
  10. Well... it's not a bad idea on its own. This country could use more accountability and service. I don't know about a mandatory year - and you'd have to include a lot of public-works or more varied stuff than just military service. Compensate people and give them benefits. It worked well during the depression.
  11. Give it a shot @Hagbard Celine . I think it can be done in good faith. I wasn’t trying to spark a political discussion, but I don’t see how you can talk about the movie without acknowledging that it’s Trump-inflected if not inspired. In a prior era the too-close-to-reality version of America would look different; Lockjaw likely would have been CIA and his target Muslims. Which ties into the Reddit thread which got a lot of shit but has some element of truth: the French 75 is very clearly a 60s inspired activist revolutionary group of the type that simply doesn’t exist at all now. Today’s America hasn’t yet produced a Weather Underground or SLA type group.
  12. I was watching the Pop Tarts Bowl with some of my in-laws. They were all laughing about the gimmicks, but I think it’s great. All the old traditional bowls were stuffy with their blazer-wearing committees. We are past that, particularly for the non-playoff bowls. Make them fun. Give them a marketing edge that people will tune in to watch. I find those games entertaining regardless of the teams on the field because they choose to make them that way. Was it Flavor Flav last year at the Mayo Bowl? That was good stuff. The giant toaster and huge edible Pop Tart cakes? Good stuff. We need more of that.
  13. Bowls are mostly fun. I had a blast being at the Hawai’i Bowl. That game meant something to both teams and they both played hard the entire game. The Hawai’i fans were so happy when they won. You can’t replicate the joy I witnessed from these folks. Hawai’i is their pro team and to see them play their last game out here for the year was really cool for them. I’ll go again next year to it as well because the atmosphere for the game is just cool.
  14. Just torched Siakam on that last one. Also love this court - is this y'all's city edition?
  15. Drank Blvd for life, bruh!
  16. Don’t forget our pact to neg-rep AI shit in 2026.
  17. We really need to design some better O around Wemby - and/or he needs to improve when it comes to ball-movement and spacing. We can't have it be Wemby get the ball at the 3 line and try and do something and if he can't kick it out every other possession.
  18. Alamo had NYE and NYD showings. Think one at the same time as the Netflix release on NYE and one a few hours later. And then 4 showings on NYD mountain time, they release the finale at 6pm on NYE. They have a 6pm and 7:45pm. I’m going to the 9:45am on NYD showing
  19. KD gonna torch these whities
  20. Punting candidate. Numbers aren't far off from our departing punter. He'll be sophomore. Texas incumbent stats
  21. I absolutely love the Doll>Monkey Wrench sequence to start. The end run starting at February Stars is stunning. New Way Home is an absolutely elite album closer. Even the throwaway stuff like See You is great.
  22. It's so fucking hilarious cause we all know that somehow no matter what GenX is going to get royally fucked when this all shakes out.
