  1. I wasn't really locked in on it as something to argue about, but I did have "Elspeth" ("Ellen" or "Elly" as a shortened version) but that didn't fly with the wife. She was always conjugating names & looking for ways it could be used or twisted by other kids; that was very important to her because she actually has a dumb 1st name (because her mom is an idiot... but that's for another thread... wife goes by her middle name except on medical or legal docs, etc). The girl (oldest) has a very pedestrian 1st & middle name... I dig it. The boy is also nicely generic for both names... & My nickname for him from prob. the 1st week has always been "Monster". He doesn't mind when I use it, but get chafed with others pull that.
  2. Please please tell us (even though it didn't work out) that your last name is "Freely". Yeah?
  3. Yep, you're right - they shouldn't be taxed because they will take their toys & go somewhere else. Because the only alternative is to NOT actually tax the wealthy... yep, that makes all the sense.

  5. IPM's still count because even the bar code needs to have a rando check now & then. Why? Because someone can get a sticker for 3 oranges & then slip a 4th into the bag, that's why.
  6. I typically base my register choice on who has the cutest / hottest cashier girl (assuming over 18, of course).
  7. FYI & I don't know if this applies to any other grocery store, however @ HEB if you put all your veggies up front, that helps the "IPM" or Items per Minute for the register clerk. They have a metric of how many things they can run through & scan. If the products are veggies up front, they don't start the clock because those things need to be weighed. If you've got a weight required produce item anywhere AFTER the 1st "regular" item (like, a box of whatevers, non produce), that does count in their time to scan. Bottom line: Help out the clerk & put all your veggies up front.
  8. Discuss. Exactly how many times per day ARE you vac sealing stuff? You got an efficient weed operation going on? Why no mention of a scale?
  9. I had no idea Bob Stoops was that old.
  10. I'm in a few Cummins groups on FB & have seen a lot of grid deletes on that. Nothing like the bullshit FORD people have to go through if they are stuck with the Evil 6.0.
  11. Driving over from Houston for that? You can have it. @plimon, checking... hopefully you provided contact details outside of Shag PM's.
  12. You think trying to understand how to PLAY is a hassle... I'm guessing they don't even sell nachos & the beer isn't cold. Fuckers. No wonder we kicked their asses.
  13. That really REALLY needs to be a blindfolded elephant she's using as her locomotion (not blinkers... BLINDERS).
  14. Drop a turbo'd up V6 into that. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
  15. Yeah, you know... the one that looks like a spring turned sideways. I'm only 6 years into driving a Cummins.
  16. Yeah, it's steam smoker crap. I'll get a sandwich that can be drowned in sauce, but other than that... nah. Way too many people out here don't know decent from good from bad. I mean, the guy (retired A.P.D., hence the logo) is nice enough but nope, it's no better than Railroad just 4 blocks West.
  17. Do you even Dixiecrat / Great Party Swap / Southern Strategy, bro?
  18. On the contrary, it has been said on many an occasion that the Founders designed our 3 legged system this way on purpose. The ship ain't supposed to turn quickly.
