  1. It's not about sign stealing-that's been around since catchers started throwing down signs started using indicators to confuse baserunners who may be looking. The issue is using technology the way they did to steal signs, not stealing signs itself. We used to try to steal signs in high school if were in a position to do so.
  2. Since this came up, what about a two lanes that merge into one towards an intersection. You have a long line of people who stay in the left hand lane, and two or three assholes that will stay in the right hand lane until the very end and then butt in to the front of the line. I will always block them because they are just assholes.
  3. Ya think? Nine triples in the first half, and kept up the pace in the second. They look good when they start to click.
  4. He's a member of the military, and the UCMJ applies to military personnel.
  5. Lol. Are you high? Am I correct that you're assuming that Mahomes lucked his way into the Super Bowl? I think Mahomes is a bit better at the position at 24 than Johnson and Dilfer at any point in their careers, and anyone who saw him at Tech isn't surprised that he went number 10 in the draft. He played his ass off every game but didn't have a defense at all-at any time in his career. What you see now is what he can do WITH a defense. Plus, he can read defenses, which is something that Young never adapted to (which sucks, because he was so athletic). I think that his ability to run might bite him in the ass, though, which he's going to need to keep in check if he wants to keep playing at this level.
  6. They might've put him in a simulator, but there is no way he was taught to fly a hornet. He could've taken the stick in the backseat of a two-seater instructor version and pulled off a couple of barrel rolls, then told everyone that he knows how to fly it, but that's about the extent of it (as far as I can see).

    GTA V

Has it really been out since 2013? I can still play this after getting through to the ending and just mess around in the city-it's such a good game.
  8. Virginia's is most definitely a good place for a burger. Went about every week when I lived there. Glad it's still around after the hurricane.
  9. Are you resigning soon, or just calling it quits after the current academic year ends? It does seem within the last few years that the job of teaching involves more and more outside the classroom bullshit, almost to the point that actual teaching is secondary. I don't know if that has anything to do with why you're going to bail, but if it is, I couldn't agree more.
  10. I just bought the CBDistillery 1000mg bottle and am just using one dropper (about 33mg) in the AM to see what my tolerance is at the moment. I was under the impression that since 1000mg is a 'medium' strength tincture, it would be smart to go with one serving at first.
  11. Sorry if I fucked this up-I was trying to say that I have 7th graders who have heard of a cat. 5 hurricane. I'm convinced I'm living in an alternate reality at this point...this can't be real. He has to be trolling. No one can be this stupid.
  12. Loved Wings and Coach, although Coach seemed to jump the shark the last couple of seasons when he was coaching the Orlando Breakers.
  13. We used a map like this one to go astronaut stalking after our latest JSC trip last week. It's amazing that such extraordinary men lived like the guy next door. Among a few others, saw James Lovell's old house that backed up to a canal-I think John Glenn's house backed up to the same one, but I could be wrong.
  14. Stay away from Anna Maria Island-it's mine. The doughnut shop Brew is talking about (Doughnut Experiment, I think) is excellent.
  15. Wear dry-wicking...everything. We end up going in July as well. It'll still be hot af, but that helps. Use your fast passes and reload when you can. And Animal Kingdom is by far the best park.
  16. We were in line at the Pirates of the Carib ride at DW one night and my wife struck up a conversation with the family right behind us. Dad (Aggy) spent the next 30+ minutes telling me about his job at Blue Bell (before they started killing people). I think the only thing I said all night was my name. After that, he wouldn't shut up. I wanted to end his life by the time we jumped on the ride.
  17. I've thought about this since Trump was elected. Before the first primary, every presidential candidate should take a high school level govt test-nothing overly difficult, just basic functions and roles of the government.
  18. There was also a good post yesterday from a woman offering free anti-vax forms. It turned out as expected, and I'm sure it'll still be blowing up today.
  19. It's not too difficult to get rid of bad teachers. If a teacher is found to be deficient in any area found during his/her evaluations, they can be put on a 'growth plan' and if the issues are not corrected, they don't get an offer for the following year. Bad teachers will eventually show themselves (poor district/STAAR testing results, classroom management, etc).
  20. That's what I grew up with in West Texas. And as a teacher now, yes-it still makes sense. Even more sense, actually.
  21. Alpine is a great place to stay if you're not going to the park every day. Like someone else said, it's a good halfway point to places like Ft. Davis, etc.
