  1. There’s a place near my office called Bella Donna subs. A lot of their stuff is kinda meh but serviceable. However, they have a sandwich called Brooklyn Meets Philly that is great. Also their Ron’s Chicago Style beef is pretty good with the dipping sauce.
  2. The one really positive thing I get from Wisner and Baxter being out is, we have a huge stable of RBs that have game experience now.
  3. I would celebrate that meal!
  4. Go to the kosher HEB there on Far West, buy some liver, and cook it in the house. Also buy some febreeze. Nah screw that, get Conans one more time.
  5. Long ago, in a galaxy far far away, I managed subcontracts for a company that did environmental remediation at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. So we were buying hazmat suits, test wells, you name it. I accidentally fat fingered a vendor number and some lucky port-a-can vendor got a $75k payment that was supposed to go to someone else. The guy actually called me and sent the check back. Go figure.
  6. The pizza guys are colluding with the toilet paper guys, man. Stay the course! Use the curtains!

We should start a “really shitty places you lived as a college student” thread. Man Riverside, more specifically Parker Lane back in 1986 or so was a rat infested shithole. The only worse place I lived was on Reinli Arms apartments behind the Chevron and across the street from the Pizza Hut where that girl got murdered and a guy got wrongfully convicted of it. Cameron Road and Capital Plaza were not nice places in the 80s.

Hell, I’d eat it anyway and probably like it.

I’m gonna tell this story here, because it fits. My ex-boss, who used to be President of the company I work at, had a cheap dad. I mean we all did, but this man took cheapness to whole new levels. When my buddy was a kid, their family ride was a Ford utility van. His dad bought used wooden church pews from a church flea market, and bolted down three row wooden bench seating for the family. This was before seat belt laws. I didn’t ask if you were supposed to genuflect before a road trip but should have. So his old man had been working on the brakes one weekend. Fast forward a couple days, they are rolling down the street one day, and come to a four way stop. They stop. A wheel with a tire on it goes rolling through the intersection. My friend was like “dad, there’s a tire rolling down the street!” His old man calmly says “ that’s ours son, go catch it before it reaches the interstate!” This was in Michigan which makes it better.

Thank you for not extolling the virtues of Missouri pizza 😅

I miss Godfathers. When I lived off Riverside as a freshman in college I ate the hell out of some Godfathers pizza. It was sort of in between regular pizza and Conans.
  12. I tried making homemade boudin one time in the house. Almost led to a divorce, so yes, a side burner on the gas grill is almost as valuable as a side piece. 😂
  13. Get the liver and onions. It’s something you can’t get most places and unless you’re single can’t cook at home either.
  14. You don’t want to know the answer to that question. Really..
  15. I think their dads were roommates.
  16. He was shooting from elevation - probably aimed at the chest and shot high because he didn't take shooting downhill into account.
  17. Same thing more or less tried to happen and failed, with the airport. Minus the TV station angle.
  18. Went high falutin’ this evening with some fish stick sliders.
  19. With fucking ketchup on it.
  20. I can’t do it on my phone but would also do really well sitting at the cookie table with Rupert Murdoch and the two rubes.
  21. The world is at their fingertips. Good, bad, and mostly ugly.
