  1. Not a good look https://www.sltrib.com/sports/byu-cougars/2025/05/21/byu-quarterback-jake-retzlaff/
  2. And what, pray tell, is your genius plan on what to do with all that salt after Brazoria County is full up?
  3. Yeah, but they've written us off as rich (for now) leppers already.
  4. In good news, you can just add it to the pile of shit and nobody will remember it in the US in about 48 hours (and only about 15% of Americans will even hear about it at all).
  5. I'm surprised we haven't nuked Zimbabwe yet
  6. It'll be like a Soviet military budget. 20 or so billion will go to contractor friends that will make a few prototypes and then have a few to sit in storage. The remaining 150 billion will be straight up missing.
  7. It's funny, 'cause even after all these years, we still get people giving us advice, how to improve the show. Actually, a few moments ago I ran into a nut back there, he said, you know, that maybe we should think about, you know, not doing the show in a bar.
  8. Looks cheaper than USA Transfers. I'll probably use them this go around. We've had bad luck with chatting up taxi drivers in Cancun vs everywhere else in Mexico. Usually in CDMX or wherever we'll get their What's App and just pay them a flat rate for the weekend and have them take us to wherever they like to eat and that kind of thing. It works great, except in Cancun.
  9. Never had any issues with USA Transfers who has been the recommended method from the Isla Mujeres thread for years.
  10. My wife really didn't complain about motels until I pulled into the Travelodge in Memphis TX a few years back. Now everything must be planned, and she'll probably have something like, "Made us stay at the Travelodge In Memphis TX" on my gravestone lest the people forget my transgressions.
  11. That was my recommendation, plus they have bison and bison are cool.
  12. If you're willing to increase the drive two hours you can skip 10 and go through Hattiesburg, Jackson, Vicksburg, Monroe, and Shreveport instead. We did that when I was in high school and it's one of the best drives in these United States to help you appreciate everything that you have in life. It wasn't a total loss though as we did mark off Southern Miss, LaTech, Jackson State, Grambling, and ULM on the "seen campus and stadium list" and Vicksburg National Military Park was actually worth visiting. That wasn't even our worst detour. My dad is a bit of an excentric fellow and once drove us hours of the way to eat in Monroeville AL in the off chance that he could see Harper Lee out on the town. It was not a successful venture, but the Old Courthouse Museum was interesting.
  13. Correct, national treasure
  14. Well Walmart and China together should eat the tariffs. That's mighty white of China to lose money for us for no reason.
  15. For some reason that's what we wanted, and certainly what we deserved.
  16. What is the 7 year old's thrill tolerance? That'll make a big difference in your goals.
  17. I saw where Giant Bomb is now fully independent. I don't know if there is enough of a market to service Jeff Gerstmann, Nextlander, and Giant Bomb but I hope they all make it.
  18. Yup, wasn't in the algorithm for them.
  19. I was walking along the Bosque with the wife and we came upon a lady and her kid who were watching a snake along the shore. Apparently, my tone was "assholeish" according to my wife when I corrected the lady that it was a water snake and not a cottonmouth. It wasn't my fault that I was trying to prevent her from corrupting the youth. I blame this thread.
  20. We're not Yankees but we're also Yankis Sounds like some kind of Aggie riddle.
  21. I remember reading about how Stalin personally censored some anti-Nazi books from being published in the USSR because he thought it would provoke Hitler (citation is Geoffrey Roberts' Stalin's Library, IIRC). That historiographical position is one where Stalin respected Hitler but deeply misunderstood him and thought that he would respond to literature like Stalin presumably would have based upon his insatiable reading habit. I'm not enough of a Stalinist to know if that's a popular position in the academic community.
  22. Did you know that he also sometimes posts in Spanish? I don't think there are even any Catholic Spanish speakers. I'm gonna have to head on up to West for some kolaches and some real talk on the horrors of this new pope.
