  1. IMO the character/development were what drove the show past others in its realm (BB). Everybody in Tony's family had a fully fleshed out character and was genuinely interesting (even if AJ was a dickhead), then you can branch out to Uncle Jr., Tony's mom, Tony's sister, and they all have fleshed out characters, and that's before you even get into the Soprano crime "family"... Watching for the 2nd time, I think I'm in S3, Janice just did in Richie Aprile, I haven't seen it in a while, completely forgot that's how he died. Crazy, but also unfulfilling, really wanted to see worse for him.
  2. Absolutely there is. In Houston's 2nd Ward/East-end area I remember eating Rally's every once in a while, and I must have been like 6-7 years old, but I remember a drive-in that might have been Rally's or might have been something else, but we would go there often and get onion rings and those are cool memories. Probably somewhere off Navigation kinda near the ship channel, as we lived off Navigation/Canal.
  3. Yeah that's actually true. I guess an actual shot to start is what I meant.
  4. Maybe he loves the game and just wants to get some real playing time for the first time in his career. He's clearly capable. Maybe he wants a leg up on a grad degree. I'd think the connections he made here are already solidified, he's a graduate and a 4-year player.
  5. Wish it would've worked out for him, but seems like he maxed out on potential. He wasn't ever fast or quick enough to be isolated on an island, but I do think he improved greatly from his RS Freshman year to last year, he actually looked confident and in the right spots last year. Hard to be a RS Senior and see some 18 year olds pass you up though. Let him go get that playing time at another D-I school and enjoy what he worked hard for, being a high-floor/low-ceiling guy that can be dependable. Also, give him credit for opening up the new wave of Houston Lamar guys, he led to Holton, Holton to our 3 new freshmen. Before Bonney it had been since Orakpo.
  6. Ignoring them is what led to people like Miller and Bannon and Sessions all being in Trump's white house with serious influence. Think this argument through a little bit better. Then we can take it to CR.
  7. The buddy that I went with, who was on his 4th visit to CDMX didn't Uber when we got out of the Airport, and I didn't ask bc it was my first time there, he hails an *unmarked* cab that took us a few blocks before he handed us a menu of destinations that said a trip to Roma Norte was going to be like $40. Stupid idea. I realized my friend wasn't as smart nor experienced as he claimed at that moment.
  8. Now what the shit is this?!? You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention....
  9. I'm not one to claim to know all the ins & outs of the program, but wasn't word around the team last year that CJ fell off as the year wore on because he didn't want to mix it up outside (either at the LOS or run blocking, or both)..... ironic picture is ironic....
  10. Is this really just to ward off dude's glares? Because it's effective and incredibly annoying. There's one girl I've seen doing this at my gym, and she has an ass that is absolutely worth staring at. It's a damn shame. And she's one of those that comes into the gym to pretty much do legs/glutes and abs and not a single thing else. Ass sweat? Hole in the pants? wtf.
  11. Santa Fe store clerk calls police on man "because he's being arrogant, because he's black."
  12. Playing my 7th or 8th round ever on Saturday. But my first ever after having actual instruction (summer clinic out in Kyle, not necessarily 1-on-1). Hopefully I'll see improvement. Played Bluebonnet last month and hit my first ever Birdie on that Par 3 on the front half. Got within 3 feet from the box. Y'all seem to be a tiny bit further along in development than I am. Just a bit.
  13. Guess I can only speak for the millenials born in the 4-5 year frame around me because I do everything you just mentioned, including having my first internet experience be a free trial disc of AOL (and then NetZero, etc.). I'd argue that if someone is young enough to have never operated a desktop they're probably not a millenial, not everyone born after 85 is a millenial, there's a new generation up (Z? What are they?)...... we're all getting older now... yadda yadda.... Excatly who I'm talking about. The ones most likely to get trolled/straight up lied to and spread it, or even fall for the phishing scams on FB or through e-mail.
  14. It's like all the olds who told my fellow millenials to watch what you put online bc the world can see it then promptly got online without a clue to how the internet works and then proceeded to herp-derp their way all over Facebook and now Twitter. They were never prepared for the way the internet operates (except for ArmyBrat, that dude is a fucking savant).
  15. The Sopranos and The Wire. GoT fell off my Top 5 after this last fan ball-fondling (fan service) season.
  16. Sent the absolutely minimum amount I felt comfortable with. Let me know where I go to get the sunshine pumped up my ass and also where the old NSFA section is.
  17. Close! Just an HBO fan. I got 2 shows ahead of Breaking Bad on my list, and we both know what they are, but I don't think Breaking Bad necessarily challenges either seriously for a Top 2 spot. IMNSHO.
  18. I'd add driving too fast or slow relative to the danger level. Saw a cyclist hauling ass down Dean Keeton a few weeks ago (westbound, all downhill coming from 35) going the same speed as me around red river, 35-40 mph bc she was pedaling fast as shit, not 1 minute later she runs straight into an SUV that turned right across her on San Jac. She must have still been going about 25 mph even after trying to brake. Felt bad, was probably the SUV's fault, but if you're on a bike you should ride at speeds relative to your ability to brake, and relative to the amount of danger being on a bike surrounded by cars entails. If I'm going 35 in my car I can brake probably half the time she can on her bike. And she paid for it. Same with scooters, I hate that they're downtown on some streets without bike lanes and not blending into traffic like *responsible* cyclists would do. Had a couple squeeze into a lane with me scare the shit out of me. Should've just followed me, or even cut me off, at least I'd understand that, but I suppose the more accident posts we see on this thread will help in sorting out the dumbasses.
  19. I saw this the other day and can't remember the whole list, but I've seen the majority of the Top 10 and thought that was alright. I don't remember enough about Lost to know if #1 is a decent choice. #45 and #44 were both my favorite episodes of R&M and The Leftovers so I liked those choices, but they'd both be in my Top 20 personally.
  20. I'd bet my USC tickets that Calvin Anderson will be starting the first game at LT. Absolutely nothing to it that he's not at LT1 on the 3rd day of practice. He will have to "earn" it the same way they're making Sam "earn" that starting spot at QB. We all knew (even since last year) that if they're both healthy Sam will be starting, regardless of all the competition talk. Herman's handling of that situation should tell you all you need to know about how he'll handle Anderson. Kirk Johnson hype from OB? Consider me intrigued. Not hard to do going from 0 expectations to maybe 1 expectation now. 5 guys that can run makes me hopeful.
  21. Made me kind of giddy. Not a fan of his at all.
  22. Really important fight for Mikey last night, and he passed the test. Enough of the random/obscure European champions, took on a rangy undefeated champ in Easter and won. I thought it was funny that Adrien Broner apparently offered his trainer to Easter for this fight, and the result was damn near the exact same. Try to outbox Mikey with speed and jabs for a couple rounds (while Mikey mostly bides time trying to figure out his approach), then taste some big power and clam up for the rest of the fight. Easter may have lasted 2-3 rounds longer before shelling up, but those last 3 rounds or so he was hardly throwing, hands high and scurrying along the ropes. Guess that trainer really has no idea how to beat an elite fighter.
  23. Let's compare what the Reality TV Star who has never had to work to live a day in their life and has a propensity for cameras in the bedroom (who now resides in the Oval Office) has in common with Kim Kardashian, compared to Ocasio-Cortez.
