  1. Probably dying/low battery in the fob. At least I hope, my 2yo Ram is starting to do the same thing about 1 out of 3 times. Just been too lazy to look it up or see how to replace fob battery
  2. BAtM toured recently with Tool. Had special instructions for the stage.
  3. No, specifically the bayraktars because of improved air defenses by the Russia
  4. I was getting some stuff out of our boat storage last week before we went camping over the weekend and a guy across the way had his storage open and was loading stuff in a Unimog with a built camper on the back. Just briefly got to look at it but was pretty cool. Older guy and said he traveled all over the US backcountry with it. I hope to catch him out there again some time at get a better tour.
  5. Jewelry counter: rings, gold necklaces, watches. They have enough $200-1K stuff to fill up a basket in 5 minutes. My wife does the Kohls cash and coupon thing and bought me a Garmin Instinct GPS watch at a really good price with it last fall.
  6. Longer video of the helicopter being shot down including a near miss.
  7. Y'all didn't have any fence posts where the grass around them needed killing?
  8. Don't really follow bitcoin or this thread and haven't read all the way back through it but has there been much discussion here regarding large bitcoin mines in/coming to Tx? I have a bunch of relatives in Navarro county and Riot Blockchain is planning on building at large bitcoin mine there. First phase will be 250MW of miners with expansion up to 1GW of miners. That's a fucking shitload of power consumption. Riot already has one of the largest mines in the US at the old Alcoa facility near Rockdale. Not really sure about how I feel about them. They are incredible power hogs and we are already dealing with a shitty power grid in Tx. Is the theory that the mines will use excess generated power which will allow more plants to stay on line to handle other demand surges? Supposedly the mines shut down when demand gets that high and re-sell their power allotment and make a profit there. Am I understanding all this correctly?
  9. Boats are fucking awesome
  10. I’ve stated before, I do most of the trailer backing and my wife or kids pull it off or on the trailer. I’m terrified of a parking brake not working, etc and dumping the whole thing in the lake. I go so far as to chock the driver front tire with a 4x6 when I leave the truck seat. It’s got a rope on it and I can retrieve as I pull up the ramp. #teamnoboatrampfolies

  12. At 14s streaking in from left and after hit it carries on past helo
  13. Maybe so. I did a little searching on google maps and found this 35 acre solar farm in Meridian run by Green Mountain and it looks like they have another small one in Wallis. A real rough look at some of the existing farms in Tx are producing roughly 100KW/acre and costs seem to be around $1mm/MW so probably $10mm+ to do the project. Eurohorn hit on the infrastructure part with regard to getting your power into the grid. Most of these solar farms of any size are being built next to a high voltage grid/substation. I think that's probably a crucial part of making it work.
  14. In case you ever wondered what it was like to sail one of the last 4 masted baroque freighters running the nitrate trade from Chile, around the Cape Horn into Europe in the '20s
  15. Is 100 acres even big enough for a commercial facility? There is one being built east of Corsicana by Enel Green Power that covers almost 3000 acres and is supposed to be 250MW of solar and 80MW of battery storage. They are out there right now in some of the most fertile black land soil around, cutting in power cabling and solar panel mounts. On a kind of related note, Riot Blockchain is building a 400MW bitcoin mining operation in the southern portion of Navarro county that will be online in 2023 and has expansion plans to eventually increase that to 1GW of miners.
  16. Don’t know about DFW but we rented vans from PV Rental in Houston for travel to summer camp Buffalo Trails Scout Ranch one year. Logistics to get them to Dallas might be tough but if you are in that much of a bind it might work. Other years to Colorado, Oklahoma and Arkansas we took a bus. Where are y’all going? Camp Alexander?
  17. That boat needs more tuna tubes.
  18. Pontoon boats suck for towing and unloading/loading. They are awesome if you have a place on the water with boats lifts for the ‘toon and other boats to fish/wake etc.
  19. C'mon, it's Czechoslovakia. We zip in, we pick 'em up, we zip right out again. We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia. It's like we're going into *Wisconsin*
  20. That’s because he was the HMFIC.
  21. Was ready for Kate in 1985, am ready for Kate in 2022 and all years in between. HoL is a great album to listen all the way through every 3 or 4 months. The Ninth Wave side is fantastic! Still wish she would release a dvd/blueray/stream of the shows she did a few years back. This is a video she did to project on a backdrop at the beginning of T9W
  22. Have you been served for a lawsuit yet?
