  1. Son, if you aren't the real Derka, you're doing a damned good job of pretending, and I salute you.

    Getting old sucks

I think the first "thing" cut off my face/head was around 1972, when I was 29. It was a basal cell carcinoma. Last one was ummmm about six weeks ago. In between, probably a couple of times a year. They've almost all been basal cell with a few squamous cell (and a few that were benign), and the last five years or so, every six months the Dermo's PA looks, takes samples, and we get the result in a week or two. Sounds huge, but I have only a couple of noticeable scars. Bottom line, to your question, no news is not necessarily "good", but if it were really bad, you'd probably already have heard. They'd already have ID'd a melanoma, and the other two cancers are not super dangerous, just take care of reasonably quickly. NOTE: Not medical Doc, just speaking from extensive experience.
  3. Did we not just find that out? Cue "outlier" comments.
  4. "Coach, right there on your podium... is that one of the bottles from Saturday night? Or at least, the same brand?"
  5. Damn, two band names in four words. Hayseeds Flyover Country
  6. aggy no longer has the best loss. UGa lost to 'Bama, ND lost to (checks notes) Directional Illinois. Prediction: aggy points out ND was so badly beaten up from their trip to Collie Station that they couldn't handle their next game, claims advantage. Caveat: every cloud has a silver lining aggy advantage.
  7. Are you under the impression that the world in general considers Texas - the University or the State - as being "classy"?
  8. I believe you refer to the conflict known more precisely as the War of Northern Aggression, do you not? In which case, the correct response likely would be "Pour quoi non les deux?" or perhaps "Warum nicht beides?" if you prefer more brutal language.
  9. My young friend, Armybrat, was incorrect in his assessment, I believe. However, while I agree with your apparent disdain for his attitude, I must point out that you are incorrect in his (and my) generational designation. Neither of us is a "boomer". We are, in fact, War Babies. I hope you will take this information to heart, and use the preferred nomenclature from now on.
  10. After the Trey Owens Should Starts thread.
  11. The oblique injury lingering explains the shitty throws. Going back to bailing out of the pocket instead of stepping up, is just strange... maybe the pain just puts him on autopilot and it's got the old, wrong flight plan. It's hard to believe that same stuff - especially the throwing problems - doesn't show up in practice. Sark has to be aware, Milwee has to be aware. The argument about Arch not having the experience or familiarity with the playbook is meaningless when Quinn can't make the plays in the first place. As said before, I think Quinn is still hurting, and he simply is not able to "play through the pain." Maybe we just need to get him some dirt to rub on it.
  12. Dear Mr. Sec: Please be advised that we have received your communication levying a fine of $250,000 against us and requiring an investigation and report identifying as many of the approximately 15,000 persons believed to be guilty of the alleged manual projection of objects and potentially causing serious bodily injury to referees whose incredibly incompetent game management appears to have initiated the incident. We have already commenced the investigation, and it is abundantly apparent that it will be extremely time-consuming and will need quite a few investigators. Fortunately, it appears that we will be able to create a NIL component to pay substantial amounts to several dozen student-athletes to assist with Public Service Appearances needed to carry out the needed work. While we have no accurate assessment of the time and dollar amounts the entire effort will need, you should rest assured that we will spare no effort or expense to complete it at the earliest possible date. No doubt you will understand that we will not be able to forward the $250,000 fine until the reports detailing the results of our investigation have been completed to both our and your satisfaction. In the meantime, you may wish to examine the implications of Sovereign Immunity as relating to the public educational institutions of the State of Texas. Sincerely yours, [REDACTED]
  13. Saban won seven(?) NCs, but only two were undefeated teams. We're not out of contention.
  14. On the bright side, if this doesn't push Sark off the wagon, it's all good.
  15. Quinn plays like he's (already) hurt. The "oblique" injury looks to be lingering, resulting in trying to avoid any contact. Seems like he's started bailing backwards again instead of stepping up. Thought we were done with that, but...
  16. How does it go? Lies, Damned Lies, and something something...
  17. Best thing in this thread for the last several pages... Follow the Pocket is a damned good band name.
  18. As are most of us. The heavyweights I'm looking for are Clay and Liston.
  19. The script is already written. It's really more of an outline than a script, in that the outcomes are dependent on each other, but it's done. There will be three meetings of Georgia and Texas this season. In this first one, it is anticipated that Texas will prevail, but the Dawgs might win if their QB has a stellar day against our DBs. Either way, it likely will be reffed to a one-possession final margin. The second meeting, of course, will be in the CCG. In it, the loser of the first game will win. The preferred, although not required, is that Georgia wins the CCG, simply because the members are quite adamant about not having Texas walk into the conference and snatch the trophy. This, of course, means that we win the first game, but if we don't, we will be rewarded with the conference crown instead. Both teams will be in the playoffs - the CCG winner of course being in the top four, and the loser in the other eight. It makes things more comfortable if two-loss Georgia is the top four team, as a one-loss Texas is inarguably included in the playoffs. This makes me think the refs either allow or assist us in the first game. The third meeting is in the playoffs. Ideally in the Grand Finale, but the politicking required to insure that may be beyond Commissioner Stankey's reach. We shall see. Hook'em
  20. No question.
  21. I don't care what the score is, we win, and most likely cover the Vegas line. SEC head office recognizes we are going to be the cash cow for the next few years, and there is no way they will let the refs do anything to let UGA win. Bank it.
  22. Jimbo Fisher is laughing his ass off.
  23. I wanted Straight Arrow, but Cool Arrow is what I got.
  24. Half the time there isn't enough time. New aggy motte toe?
