  1. I say completely sincere ceremony on field. Make the dude pose and shake hands as a retrospective plays on Jumbotron.
  2. Now imagine Colorado with Iowa’s offensive and defensive line talent and Iowa with Colorado’s offensive and defensive line talent.
  3. In Big 12 I like 3-3 because the league allows holding with impunity. Your edges get neutralized. You can disguise coverages and blitzes better. For mobile QBs, you might get more dudes on the field that can rundown a QB. Downside is recruiting. At the end of the day, it dont make a shit. We’re getting out of this chickenshit outfit and stockpiling line talent.
  4. Your “but why male models?” response undermines your inherent advantage of understanding COA policy. Try a new tact.
  5. I dont understand money laundering, tax write-offs, or other rich people shit. But we’re having entities buy homes and not live there or lease to residents of the community. London has long been plagued with empty units. But one way they make money are vacation homes and rentals and that is a key driver of pricing. Right now there are a 1000 empty, full homes waiting to be gobbled up by tourists. In the old days, more supply was needed to accommodate new residents. Now more supply is need to accommodate global demand for investment properties.
  6. Why are we talking about Mueller - a private/public planned community years in the making when we’re talking about how we can help Californians, money launderers, and Saudis maximize their ROI so they can have three empty houses on a lot instead of just one empty house.
  7. Interest rates, crypto crash, airbnb slowdown have softened the global housing market. What we’re seeing is less profiteers and less buyers able to finance. War in Ukraine and Middle East will also dampen cash investors. What we are not seeing is an increase surplus for middle and low income residents.
  8. Austin real estate skyrocketed amidst a new construction boom then stabilized following an increase in interest rates, an AIRBNB slowdown, a crypto crash and banking crisis. The housing market is no longer a housing market. Investors are content in housing tourists, making these extra homes for themselves, and/or simply sitting on these homes. New construction simply drives up value and will do so until there is a change in the global economy. What we do here in Austin is a blip. Making it easier to profit off land will compound our affordability crisis.
  9. Rock bottom was Texas Bowl with Swoopes playing QB and playing without an offensive line
  10. Midsommar was a wild movie
  11. Congress will have staffers working in shifts to make this happen
  12. Plenty of Chip and Joanna, Ghost Hunters, and Friends, though!!!
  13. This is year 3. Performance issues are on coaching.
  14. It kind of depends on the probability of Auburn making that kick (which is an unknown variable before he actually nailed that kick). But for the sake of argument - what if it were a 50-50 prop? I didnt like going for it on 4th and 4, but wanted a more aggressive playcall on 3rd and 9.
  15. The past rules of supply and demand do not apply any more. Housing is now a global commodity sought after by entities who have no intention of moving here or leasing to residents. Some facts: > A significant portion of home sales are bid by investors (like the ones described above). Or, like my cliched neighbors from California, they are spare homes. > New construction and renovated construction increase neighborhood property values. Some opinions and assumptions: > A combination of higher interest rates and the crypto crash stabilized Austin housing prices > Decreasing property tax rates stimulates the housing market, leading to higher valuations. > Texas cities are largely inept in doing anything about except making things worse by accelerating gentrification. The state has and would strike down any remedies that would conflict with special interests or “free market” rhetoric. > Maybe COA’s codenext scheme, with incentives for subsidized housing, is the best bad solution.
  16. Well he still needs to win 3 more games…
  17. The 2018 runner up campaign was not what got Herman in trouble. The 2019 team underperformed badly. One of the worst coaching jobs I’ve ever seen* Derailed the program. Led to massive coaching and player attrition. *LSU’s 2019 offense was far better than anyone here imagined at the time. Think it crushed the D’s confidence and Herman’s confidence in Orlando. Then the offense regressed to the point where we were outmatched against Iowa St and Baylor. At one point lost 4 of 6, which including a last minute win at home against Kansas. Then in the Alamo Bowl we curb stomped Utah behind a healthy Ehlinger and Ingram and a simplified defensive scheme featuring Joseph Ossai rushing the passer. Showcases what happens when coaches get out of their own way and when Big12 refs are not tipping the scales.
  18. When OU needed to score, they knew they could. They did not want to get Gabriel injured by running him throughout. And they did not want to get in a shootout. Their scripted plays and 2-minute drill obliterated us. Old school Big 12 offenses would light us up.
  19. A lot of issues get solved when the game gets moved to 230. Because Ive long realized for 11am games it realty means you have to find a suitable Cotton Bowl entrance at 10am.
  20. I knew someone was out there. That coverage was madness.
  21. Only playing 10 guys doesnt seem like a sound strategy when we want to stop them from kicking a field goal.
