So? Have you heard a Republican candidate talk about economics, deficits and revenue? They also have no idea what they're talking about.

Also, fucking Joe Lieberman needs to shut the fuck up.  That dude is worthless.

And while I might not agree with everything you say, I'm sure you could give a far more coherent exposition on the dispute and your ideas for a solution than that.

Nobody has a real workable plan for Palestine, but for sure, the apartheid you support is a racist and bad plan.

Me or Alexandria? I'm posting the timeline map because I know Zork is trolling and unwilling to accept that Israel hasn't done anything wrong in their occupation.

Meanwhile here's Trump responding to a question from the press  on Israeli settlements:

Michael Flynn, General Flynn is a wonderful man.  I think he’s been treated very, very unfairly by the media - as I call it, the fake media, in many cases.  And I think it’s really a sad thing that he was treated so badly.  I think, in addition to that, from intelligence - papers are being leaked, things are being leaked.  It’s criminal actions, criminal act, and it’s been going on for a long time - before me.  But now it’s really going on, and people are trying to cover up for a terrible loss that the Democrats had under Hillary Clinton.

I think it’s very, very unfair what’s happened to General Flynn, the way he was treated, and the documents and papers that were illegally - I stress that - illegally leaked.  Very, very unfair.

As far as settlements, I’d like to see you hold back on settlements for a little bit.  We’ll work something out.  But I would like to see a deal be made.  I think a deal will be made.  I know that every President would like to.  Most of them have not started until late because they never thought it was possible.  And it wasn’t possible because they didn't do it.

But Bibi and I have known each other a long time - a smart man, great negotiator.  And I think we're going to make a deal.  It might be a bigger and better deal than people in this room even understand.  That's a possibility.  So let’s see what we do.

I can't wait to "but Trump" every criticism y'all have of D candidates.

Zork is apparently much more concerned about a congressional candidate from New York's 14th District knowledge of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict than he is of our Commander in Chief. And her answer sounds like she knows 10x on the topic than Trump, who actually has influence over the situation, unlike an individual house rep.

Sure, but they have been coached on how to spew talking points and platitudes to hide that fact from a large portion of their base.

I think you could give a better explanation than she did.  Because I think you're plenty smart and well-read.  But I also think the average congressional candidate should be more informed than you (or me) on such issues.  And she's not.

No, I think she probably doesn't.

Was that supposed to be a gotcha moment or something?

And I never said your repeated posts on Ocasio-Cortez are irrelevant to the thread. I just find your focus on her humorous when neither you nor anyone in your audience will help determine whether or not she's elected.

She is quite popular, a sensation, as you know from the recent primaries.  Why would you not want to know how she interviews?

It took me 5 minutes of reading and watching video to know everything I need to know about the Democratic candidate for the 14th Congressional District of New York. I live in the 10th Congressional District of Texas.

You should probably consider that the reason you are reading so much about her is because media depends on rubes like you who think that she is going to have some sort of impact on your life.

She's also smart enough to go read up on it if she's ever in the position to vote in Congress regarding Syria.  I don't expect her, or anyone else, to know everything about everything.  If that makes her susceptible to gotcha journalism, so what.  Everyone is.  I do expect them to read up on things when making a decision about them.  Most of our current Congressmen don't even read the bills they vote for.

She will have a nice career as a crank member of Congress who tells her district what they want to hear and doesn’t do a whole lot else.  If she ever tries to go national she will be left wing Sarah Palin ... or become President. We seem to be 50-50 on that.

I am not a fan, but it is much more troubling that the whole GOP lines up behind Trump than a district of Dems in NYC backing her.  I hope it’s not a broader signal that the left wing is going to react to Trump by supporting their own heavy on fiery talking points light on knowledge, populist bomb throwers in return, but that probably is going to be the trend.

She's really young and seems bright.  I wouldn't write her off just yet.  She'll learn policy.

I wouldn't write her off, but it will be tough for her to last past 2 terms.  She just wrote the playbook for how to beat a popular incumbent in a safe district.  And since she's already been to the border and other states doing "campaign" activities, and will undoubtedly spend most of her time in DC rather than in NY14, she is highly susceptible to attack in a couple cycles by another young idealist who uses her exact strategy.  "She lives in DC and is out of touch.  I live here."

Which is fine by me.  Incumbents should never feel comfy, and should always have to bring their ass back to their district to campaign every time they are up for re-election.

Do you really care that much?  Seriously.  I can honestly say I did not consider where you lived when I made these posts today or any other day.

There have been other posts concerning her previously in this thread.(and others)  I don't see your complaints to those others following their posts.  Why is that if what you said above and in your other posts on this thread is true?

It's relevant in that zork is reflecting the attempt to make her the face of the Democratic Party.   Search Ocasio-Cortez  memes.  This isn't accidental.

Bingo.  Nancy Pelosi is aging out and they need a new boogeyman and women are preferable but Ocasio-Cortez is a female Latino from NYC.  It's a stand up triple.

Which is all fascinating coming from supporters of a party that has put ACTUAL NAZIS and WHITE SUPREMACISTS UP FOR ELECTION, TODAY:

Quote

In North Carolina, for example, GOP officials are stuck with Russell Walker, a white supremacist running for the state House of Representatives. According to his personal website (littered with the n-word), he believes that “the jews are NOT semitic they are satanic as they all descend from Satan.”

.....

In Illinois, meanwhile, the Republican Party shrugged off Arthur Jones, a candidate for the state’s 3rd Congressional district who boasted of his membership in the American Nazi Party. But Jones won the GOP primary.

.....

In Virginia, the chair of the state GOP resigned earlier this month, reportedly because of alt-right leaning, pro-Confederate candidate Corey Stewart’s win in the Republican primary.

.....

Wisconsin’s Paul Nehlen, who is running to replace Speaker Paul Ryan. Nehlen’s too racist for Twitter and even for Gab, the preferred social media platform of the alt-right.

Yeah.  Log, speck, your own eye, all that stuff.

But Trump?

Here ya go.  Trump's brilliant response when asked about Aleppo.

Well, Aleppo is a disaster. It's a humanitarian nightmare. But it has fallen from any standpoint. I mean, what do you need, a signed document? Take a look at Aleppo. It is so sad when you see what's happened. And a lot of this is because of Hillary Clinton. Because what has happened is by fighting Assad, who turned out to be a lot tougher than she thought, and now she is going to say, “Oh, he loves Assad.” He's just much tougher and much smarter than her and Obama. And everyone thought he was gone two years ago, three years ago. He aligned with Russia. He now also aligned with Iran, who we made very powerful. We gave them $150 billion back. We give them $1.7 billion in cash. I mean cash, bundles of cash as big as this stage. We gave them $1.7 billion.

Now they have aligned, he has aligned with Russia and with Iran. They don't want ISIS. But they have other things because we're backing, we're backing rebels. We don't know who the rebels are. We're giving them lots of money, lots of everything. We don't know who the rebels are. And when and if, and it's not going to happen because you have Russia and you have Iran now. But if they ever did overthrow Assad, you might end up as bad as Assad is, and he is a bad guy.

But you may very well end up with worse than Assad. If she did nothing, we'd be in much better shape. And this is what has caused the great migration where she has taken in tens of thousands of Syrian refugees who probably in many cases, not probably, who are definitely in many cases ISIS-aligned. And we now have them in our country and wait until you see this is going to be the great Trojan horse.

And wait until you see what happens in the coming years. Lots of luck, Hillary. Thanks a lot for doing a great job.

Relevant to what, one of the elections to occur in 2018?  An election that was referenced at least 4 or 5 times in this thread alone before I posted to it?  Seems relevant enough.  More relevant than who my congressman is or isn't from the list provided by me.

Whats that got to do with 2018?  Every House seat is having an election including yours.  You've talked quite a bit about a candidate for a district in a different state, yet you don't even know who your representative is.

Do you seriously not know or are you just being coy about providing personal information?

If you don't know, here is the Texas website on how to look up your state and federal reps.  Research their policies and research the pros and cons of those policies.  Be a citizen for fucks sake.  It's way more patriotic than standing for the national anthem.
