No, the state is doing the job the media is supposed to be doing.  Informing the public which politicians are full of shit.  The media only does this when it's a Republican politician.  Three weeks ago John Brennon went on MSNBC and claimed he had information that Mueller would indict Trump as part of his report.  Where is anyone in the media putting his feet to the fire now?  How many days will it be before MSNBC is using him as an authority on anything or as a reliable source for another load of bullshit they try to peddle?

So the state should be telling people who to listen to?

You haven't a shred of a clue what the media's role is in society.

We don't know how long the report is yet right?  If we are assuming hundreds of pages (or more), does it not seem that Barr is quite the speed reader and analyst?  Assuming Mueller didn't give him the Cliff's Notes version of it.

Cake was already baked before the order was placed.  Also, the unsolicited 18 page memo out front from Barr before he was Trump’s hand picked lackey should’ve told you.

Also, Barr knew about the obstruction “finding” three weeks ago, reportedly.

He can't refer criminal charges to DOJ.

Charges are against the DOJ and FBI.  These charges will be brought to a new executive department.  They've been toying with names to call it, but so far they just know they want the initials to be SS.

With Mueller Done, WSJ Urges "Probe The Real Scandal"

Just hours after reports that Rep. Devin Nunes will refer criminal charges against Clinton operatives & high-level FBI & DOJ officials for perpetuating the Russiagate hoax for over three years, The Wall Street Journal's outspoken voice of reason, Kimberley Strassel, stresses that Americans deserve a full accounting of the missteps of Comey and the FBI.

Is this the same Nunes who is suing Twitter because somebody said something mean about him? That guy seems to have a firm grasp on reality.

This is such a shitty take. This isn't a made-up conspiracy theory. This is a substantive investigative report that has lead to multiple indictments, convictions, and guilty pleas. The house voted without objection to release the entire report, which is a central piece of a national public interest.

Fuck your false equivalency

Sorry, but the core accusation underlying Russiagate - that Trump conspired with Russia to steal the 2016 election - has about as much factual support as the birther nonsense.

Clapper, Brennan, Comey, et al. Totally full of shit. Imagine trusting these fucking spooks and entrusting them to practice sound judgement in the deployment of a vast, largely unchecked, and unconstitutional surveillance apparatus.

Now imagine trusting Dan Coats, Gina Haspel, and Chris Wray.

Easy to see now the democrats were never interested in impeaching Trump with the whole, “We gotta wait for Mueller.” bullshit.

Or they were grossly incompetent not to see this Barr play coming a mile away.

Possibly both.

Bernstein: Media’s Russia Probe Coverage ‘One of the Great Reporting Jobs in the History’

Sunday, CNN’s Carl Bernstein applauded the media on “Reliable Sources” for its coverage of the Russia investigation into alleged collusion during the 2016 presidential election.

Bernstein called the media’s coverage “one of the great reporting jobs” in history.

“Clearly, half of the country, 40 percent, 45 percent of the most intense Trump supporters would say that we have been terrible, and then I think the rest of probably of the majority would say we’ve done a good job of it,” Bernstein stated. “I think the media, the press has done one of the great reporting jobs in the history, especially covering a presidency by the most news organizations. And look, let’s look where the disinformation and mistakes and lying have come from. Hasn’t come from the press, it has come from the president of the United States and those around him.”

He added, “We need to see the full Mueller report.”

Host Brian Stelter asked, “If it turns out that there was a lot of smoke, but no fire — is that a failure of the press to focus so much on all the smoke?”

“First of all, I think there has been plenty of fire regardless of whether or not there’s a finding, of whether or not Donald Trump is guilty of a crime and remember, under the Justice Department guidelines he cannot be found guilty of a crime while in office — or indicted,” Bernstein told Stelter. “So, that’s why we need these underlying facts.”

Any evidence of this or is this more sarcasm?

5 sentenced to prison, 7 guilty pleas, 32 indictments. Trump tower meeting to get dirt on Hillary. Campaign manager passing detailed polling data to russians. "Russia if you're listening." Firing the investigator cause of the "russia thing." Trump Moscow project that everyone lied about.

The spooks have been and are doing their jobs.

It's very weird that people on both sides think something nearly 600 days out from the election will have any impact on it whatsoever.

IT's quite normal to overrate the daily drivel.  THis is a 2 year dialogue though.

Piss tape could be real  Most of the dossier has turned out to be true.  It just doesn't provide leverage so its useless for blackmail.  How many porn stars has Trump been caught paying off?  Who cares if he gets a little kinky sometimes.  You could put the tape on youtube today and not a thing would happen and Trump wouldn't care.  Who knows what other shit the Enquirer has caught and killed.  Most of the rest will eventually come out and it also won't matter.

It was always a farce.  There is no Russian video that could hold a candle the allegations already made by American women.  No Trump voter thought he had a good personal life.  the ONLY blackmail that could work is one that would prove the victim committed a crime, like lying to federal investigators.  having a special counsel looking to indict members of a political circle is actually the best the Russians could have hoped for.

Always my favorite source for simple explanations of complex legal scenarios. My favorite podcast. Interesting analogy that Mueller was punting to congress re obstruction and Barr intercepted the punt and spiked it in the endzone.

I guess we'll find out when we read the report.

You do realize they're never going to get the full report, right?  They've already said that certain confidential parts can't be released by law, so at best they're going to get a partial report.  The Dems and the media know that, but they keep saying "Full report!"  Why?  Because it's just one more thing they can add to the witch hunt by saying "They're hiding something, we didn't get the full report!"  Another low for them.

So was Mueller doing counterintelligence or trying to get Trump?  I think everyone at NPR smirks at that distinction.
