Johnny extra savage here

I was hoping that him and the Japanese baddie would smash.

y’all stay for after credit scene ?

I fukin missed the scene but read about it.  And we even waited extra 5 minutes to pay the tab at Alamo while people were walking out.  Nobody else really hung around, so we didn't think to.  Probably because it was 1230am.

HUGE fan of the JW series.  Thought this was on a whole different level of action than the others, obviously because they have to keep upping the action and out perform the previous chapter.  Chapter 1 is still my favorite because it's just the beginning of this world.  My ranking 1,4,3,2.

I need to see 4 again, there was so much going on I was trying to digest it all lol.  Halfway through the movie I was still thinking about the opening act in Japan, holy shit that was great.  More Nunchucks please.  I could watch a whole movie of JW fighting alongside that Osaka group.

Wasn't really a fan of Mr Nobody, but he had THE dog so I allowed it.  Wish he would have mentioned his ties to Halle Berry character or something.

A TV series is coming to Paramount+ I think...The Continental.

Saw it last night. Absolutely stunning. One of the greatest action flicks of all time. I loved the first one, liked the second one  and was kind of meh on the last one... But holy shit does 4 deliver. Sure it's a little bloated with the run time but got damn it's great.

Well when the “2 minutes to go” stairs fight scene runs into F&F runway territory, it’s gonna run a little long

I don't know why, but I thought he might be Charon's son.  Maybe I was hoping to have some connection to Charon throughout the film since they killed him off so quickly in the movie.

The High Table runs some of the highest tech hotels I've ever seen, yet uses manual typewriters, dot matrix computer terminals, and '50s era phone switchboards.

It's visually interesting but kind of funny and really nonsensical.

I thought High Table Radio was kind out of left field and weird too. Didn’t fit with the world built in the first three.

Definitely out of left field but I totally started laughing because it was in homage to the Warriors.

The Continental chain is not owned by the High Table.  They operate under their fealty, but have their own ownership, management and P&L.

Interesting video here. According to the John Wick producer, when they screened the first movie to studio execs they hated it. One Fox exec hated it so much that he got up and left in the middle.

How can anyone hate John Wick 1? And considering some of the total crap that they put out, I wonder what criteria they were using.

It was political.  Hollywood bitchez hate violence if it doesn't send an anti-violence message in real life.  Violence for the sake of violence is going to be harder and harder to come by on the big screen.

I agree with 1,4,3,2

Almost done rewatching the trilogy.  #1 is iconic of course.  It reinvigorated action movies.   But the action pales in comparison to 3 and 4.  Those movies give you horse chases, ninjas, ninjas on horses, a gun fight on stairs and a goddamn duel.  Using that perspective I'm going to change my answer:

4,3,1,2

so i just saw this movie.

i guess i was underwhelmed? is that the feeling i'm having? i had such high expectations, but it was just a beautiful mess. the action was top notch. artful, ugly, beautiful, gross, all the things i've come to expect from john wick.

i mean, who the fuck is the guy with the dog? he's nobody but he demands an exhorbitantly high bounty, yet no one knows who he is? but i guess he has a dog who is trained to grab deez nuts? it's comedy but it's boring and puerile. and i'm a juvenile idiot like the rest of you.

and while we are talking bounties - these disposable hit men are video game annoying. more than that, some of them seem like they spent more on the attempt on wick's life than it was worth. his bounty, given his "worth" in the universe is way out of wack. $20 million for the most dangerous dude in the world? even the $40m later seems petty for the life of john wick, given all the waste he's lain to whatever this organization is over the past two months or whatever.

and because he has a dog, and john wick likes dogs, that's the connection, but i still don't see the point. is the movie really any different without that guy? i liked the donnie yen character as a complicated and unwilling villain, though. the after credits scene, while good, i guess, was jarring in the john wick universe. yeah, yeah, consequences, blah blah.

winston is reduced to just an extra con man, maybe because of the star playing him? ian mcshane is brilliant, but just wasted in the show. winston always has "an angle" according to john, but in the past he's been more helpful for personal reasons. he didn't need to upset the apple cart just to right it again. he enjoyed being the agent of chaos, i guess, but more of a witness to it than originally an agent of it. anyways, sure, i guess he's john's second but that's the only role he plays, other than witnessing charon's rather unglorious death (rip, sir).

so right there, we have two characters who don't make any goddamn sense in the narrative.

i dunno, it just delt out of place in the john wick world, which, if im honest, i guess 3 did as well for me. i mean, if john wick is going to burn it all down because of his wife and dog, then burn it all down, but at least define what it is. we have the marquis. who empowers that fucker? do i even care? the whole thing kind of reminds me of the promise of the matrix, then the reality of the second and third movies as it became apparent that they had no idea where they were going.

but, as far as violence porn goes, it was amazing. just beautiful.

Lol at when he got a hold of the fire blast bullets. I’m sure none of them thought that it was prolly a bad idea to have. It took one man, and then it became johns.

does anyone know when is John Wick 4 coming to Netflix?
I watched it in the cinema and loved the action. Want to watch it again from the comfort of my bedroom.
I have found numerous websites calming John Wick 4 Netflix release date to be in May-June, but the movie is not streaming on Netflix.

Awesome take.  Would read again.

Low tech can't be tracked via intelligence agencies I guess as easily using conventional methods?
