Reminds me of an Onion article years ago that has always stuck with me.

Man Brings Lunch From Home To Cut Down On Small Joys

Speaking with reporters while opening Ziploc baggies of pretzel twists and baby carrots, local man Stan Keppler said Monday that he has started bringing in lunch from home to cut down on his small joys. “Making your own lunch each day is a great way to reduce simple pleasures throughout the week—it’s already made a huge difference for me,” the 38-year-old insurance underwriter said as he unwrapped a plain turkey sandwich that he had woken up 15 minutes early this morning to prepare. “I used to go out for lunch with coworkers and actually enjoy myself every day, but now I just sit at my desk and eat something I packed from home. It’s quick, easy, and has cut my weekly sense of gratification by at least half.”

Better choice than a Harbor Freight/TEMU jack stand.

I bought a set of 1/2" sockets for a pneumatic driver at Harbour Freight. Two of them cracked at the top on the first use. That was my first purchase ever from there. I've heard the universal complaints about their shitty merchandise forever but wondered how bad could it actually be? And how could anyone fuck up a steel socket in 2025? Welp. Now I get it.

In the old days a lot of their stuff was shit.  It’s gotten a lot better and people swear by them, but their better stuff is no longer cheap.   Were they proper sockets for air tools (usually black and thicker wall) or where they chrome?

Black. Found out that I had a cheaper set that are fairly thin and that they'll replace each socket if you take it to the store or the entire set if you bring it. I don't have a ton of experience with impact drivers. The sockets i got aren't really up for an old as shit grain drill we got just for planting food plots on a lease -- lugs and bearings and bolts that have probably been frozen for years. I went cheap and got what I paid for.

That's honestly pretty dope. Dude got his arm mainly blackened out with a few peppering and whip shading effects on the bones.

Ive bought a few bad things.  However, their pneumatic stuff seems okay for weekend warrior jobs.  I have a $25 gravity sprayer I used for outdoor furniture, I bought a stapler a few weeks ago to replace all the carpet on a boat trailer and it did fine.

1/2" EarthquakeXT Impact Wrench is the bomb!   Done more than my fair share of weekend projects with it, along with the newer impact sockets, no issues.  Also bought breaker bars, a Jesus wrench, and torque wrenches from HF, no problems!
