I would take Utah’s new head coach, with all of one win under his belt after their bowl game, before McGuire. Heck I’ll take three toes in Boulder before him. Tech employing him is good for the small cadre of teams trying to have good football programs in the Big XII.

3 hours ago3 hr Admittedly, I said before the season if Tech PLAYED in the Big XII CCG, it would meet my minimum expectation for the season. That shit today fucked a generational defense, the likes of which has never called Lubbock home.

I believe Campbell said publicly that they found their coach in McGuire. Campbell might should realize that coach he loves is a clown with zero ability to coach at this level. He’s Mack Brown with no VY and even less football acumen. If Tech is serious about winning fire him after next year and see who you can money whip to come to Lubbock.

What they miss is bullshit only goes so far at this level.
3 hours ago3 hr After all your posturing, all your little speeches, you're nothing but a common Texas Tech.
3 hours ago3 hr The thing for Tech is what do you do now? You spent however much to not score any points in your playoff game. Do you now spend more millions for a decent QB? I guess Campbell can keep feeding his bullshit to people about he wants everything fair for everyone while he skirts the rules to spend a fuckton to only win the Big 12.

No one really thought Bama should be there and OU was a known fraud. Tech only had one stumble in a mediocre Big 12. This was an embarrassment against a team they were built to beat. Indiana may win the whole thing. I doubt many think Oregon will. Edited 2 hours ago2 hr by mdmost

I guess I just can’t understand why he was afforded the opportunity to be the head coach this year when he showed he is in over his head before the big money rolled in. To me it just means another wasted season next year if he is at the helm. I want the Big XII rep to have a good showing the playoffs and have an offense that is competent. Such a waste of an incredible defensive unit. That defense paired with an offense with explosive talent and good QB play wins a title in my opinion. Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by UpperWestside

1 hour ago1 hr No. The Big 12 is highly winnable for Tech every year now that Texas and OU are gone. Your main competition is BYU and Utah. Maybe TCU but that era seems to be slipping away for them. Didn't Tech spend 50 million all told on their roster? Isn't that well above what everyone else did? Hey, hats off it Campbell did that but I hope 50 million for a Big 12 title and 0 points in the playoff was worth it. There's always next year.

Asking their defense to do it all for them is a bit much. Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by UpperWestside

Your identity was forged for decades on being a great offensive team. I joke around about the loss today because it's fun to poke the slorch bear but it's ridiculous that Tech could only have that shitty guy as their QB. Oregon is not a team that should manhandle Tech on offense.

All those relationships with HS coaches matter far less now. It’s what are you paying to get players to Lubbock? They need an actual college head coach to take the next step.

1 hour ago1 hr Complete wild ass delusion, but Morton played like he was there to throw the game……most everyone else seemed at least average. Just sayin’ Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by El Squared
1 hour ago1 hr Pretty sure Brian Fantana, Slorch, and I have all voiced concerns about Morton this season. Slorch was pretty adamant, going back to late September, that Tech wasn’t going anywhere with him at QB. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the O-line was pretty suspect as well. On top of that, the playcalling was pretty bland all season for a Tech team. I did like how they ran the ball much better than before, but that part of the offense certainly fell apart today. So, yeah, the offense was underwhelming despite the point differentials in all their wins, which we can safely now say was due to the stellar defense keeping everyone else out of the endzone. Oh, and Tech was terrible in the red zone this year. Weird problem for a Tech team to have, and they've got their work cut out for them during the offseason to make some changes on that side.

A competent QB makes this game completely different. It's a fixable problem.
