I wanna be on board with this recruitment, but unless they add another number after that 7, I just don’t see this kid ever playing a snap.  That Agbo role possibly, but ain’t no way otherwise.

Prove me wrong Heze, I want all the kids to win big.

After the complete physical transformations Malik Agbo and Cameron Williams went through, I trust the training and nutrition staffs will be able to mold Heze Kent into an athlete that can be an asset either as a jumbo TE who can be a devastating inline blocker with enough athleticism to be a short yardage receiving threat, or as a extremely athletic OL.

Kent: JR HUDL

Unless he's carrying 30 or 40 pounds of bad weight he can shed, I don't see it.  He's not doing this stuff against college athletes.  He might be a good take as a 2nd TE or a boutique blocker\gadget player, but I think TE 1 is going to be a stretch.

With Bowman and Prothro off the table, the plan seems to be to take Kent and Brown and put them in the oven for a couple years and see what happens.

(This is from a Q&A on the Notre Dame board;  Kaydon Finely is currently on an Official Visit there.)

This was an interesting response to the question of how Notre Dame would feel about missing out on their #1 target at WR, Kaydon Finley.

It seems we have the TE recruit equivalent of Jack Sprat in Browne and Kent as the wife who cleaned the rest of the plate (and the fridge and the pantry and the local H-E-B).

Ohhh, a good ole fashion read-off. I think I'll go with the Cal dude with 100,000hrs of twitter proficiency.

Clearly, the interpretation is that he hates College Station so much that visiting has actually had the opposite of the intended effect.

correct, I had just got off the mower and mrs MX was having a conversation with someone on his trip.   I misread.  sounding like the UT work is paying off.

A&M runs this play every year, so I doubt anyone on staff is surprised by it. Get a big target on campus, make a huge pressure push to secure a commitment, possibly offer a signing bonus incentive to shut down any future scheduled visits. It has to be done on campus in the moment of the peak high before the family goes home and realizes how weird college station is. They love doing this with DL targets but will do it with other stars like the WR from Georgia.

The UT staff setting up a return uov to Texas immediately after the A&M OV seems like a great move. We’ll see if it works out and if the visit actually happens, but it’s better than phone calls and wishful thinking. At the very least, it increases the resources spent pressuring the recruit to shut it down.

Couple of data points -

- Per Tom Loy, Clemson was the front-runner, going into the visit:

And he's done with his Clemson visit (done w/ all, except Tenn).

(FYI, the Clemson 247 staffer has CB picks for Bryce Perry-Wright and Dre Quinn, to end up at Clemson.)

Wasn’t Smith Orogbo a borderline 5 star last year at 215 lb and Quinn is around 230lb?

I think he’s that small - at least on film - very slim
