That looks really stupid and really fucking fun. Just like Gunn's Suicide Squad which might be the only DC film I would ever rewatch.

Peacemaker was one of the best things ever on tv.

I don’t think Lex Luthor particularly cares for Superman all that much. Just a vibe I’m getting from these trailers.

Nah just a bad day at the office.

Guy Gardner saying "Make a move Big Blue" is cool.

And the final scene where he's using his heat vision to destroy shit ton of robots or whatever looks perfect.

Got my advanced screening tickets for Tuesday Night. As a younger DC fan who had to live through the MCU era, it feels like it’s finally our time to shine. Would have been nice at 16, even better pushing 30.

Saw a new preview clip where

Spoiler

Lex Luthor kidnaps Krypto. Hmm I don't know about that. Seems silly. Maybe he hides some kryptonite in peanut butter or something.

James Gunn: Some people will take offence at my new Superman

““There are three things I don’t ever need to see again in a superhero movie, I don’t need to see pearls in a back alley when Batman’s parents are killed. I don’t need to see the radioactive spider biting Spider-Man. And I don’t need to see baby Kal coming from Krypton in a little baby rocket. We have watched a million movies with characters who don’t have their upbringing explained, like when we see Good Night, and Good Luck—we don’t need to know the early life of Edward R. Murrow to explain how he became a journalist. Who cares?”

The Office Thank You GIF

We had to see a lot of origin stuff with the Marvel movies because a lot of normal people weren't too familiar with the non-X-Men/Spidey/F4 heroes, and in those cases, they were setting up long-term arcs.

I think Gunn did it right in Guardians with giving us bits and pieces of backstories. Peter and the shit that happened with his mom, the scars on Rocket, etc.
