I wasn’t aware that was a bad thing?

I'm closer to Army Brat than to Helobious or one of these other young virile guys that run around here saying six seven every other word. I just want a brightly lit corridor so I don't fall and some decent free coffee in the morning.

Times Square Edition has some decent rates in December. Sub 700 a night.  For December, that is good. The New York Edition is clocking in at about 1100 a night.  If you are going big brand, I think Edition hotels are one of the best.

The W Union Square has reopened, and it looks really cool.

Chelsea Hotel is a great hotel, with a lot of history.

I think the best stay I have ever had was at the Plaza.

We’re back this weekend. We make a long weekend every 2 months. Our standing room at our Bryant Park Hotel was $670 in august. No idea what it’ll be this weekend (we roll over reservations in person so never book directly - they know us ….)

Share some of the intinerary!

Restaurants you are gonna hit, shows you have planned, etc.

Nothing crazy. So far Cafe Un Deux Trois (twice, one meal once for drinks great bartender), food tour of Little Italy and Chinatown, La Grande Boucherie pre theater dinner, Book of Mormon (not impressed), pizza one meal of course, lots of pubs. We’ve done a lot of walking/shopping. Tonight is Nobu 57 and then head home tomorrow. Really enjoying the trip.

@PenelopeWitherspoon we have hit a couple of your bar spots, thanks. Jimmy’s Corner is a block from us so we have been twice.

I've stayed at that hotel often (despite my earlier pronouncements of being poor and only looking at Bonvoy chain hotels). Love the location and it feels stereotypical NY to me with the bathrooms and views,  the only thing I don't like about that hotel is that it feels like a long walk away from a proper bagel and breakfast. You have the Zucker's bagels close by and it's pretty mid but other than that the pastry cafe on the corner (Ole & STeen) there is buttcheeks, as the kids say.

Maybe I was just too drunk, but it felt like anywhere we went I could throw a rock in any direction and hit at least 3 bagel spots. Pio bagel is just down the street and my wife liked it a lot. I’m not a bagel person, mainly because it would take a half dozen at least, but they looked good and there were a shit ton of options.

Where were you staying? I was refering to Ace of Spades and the Bryant Park Hotel.

I don’t really eat breakfast but can see that. It’s kinda a hollow spot for food in general minus the good Chinese spots on 39th

Which is why tonight before we see Ragtime are at my fav city bar - As Is.

Hotel Gregorian on 35th st between 5th & 6th Ave. If you’re over there again I can’t recommend enough the Playwright Irish Pub across the street from Gregorian. They had every college football game on and their grub was top notch.
