The Athletics announced a huge batch of roster moves today. They selected the contracts of catcher Willie MacIver and infielder Logan Davidson. They also recalled left-hander Jacob Lopez, infielder CJ Alexander and outfielder Denzel Clarke. Infielder Gio Urshela was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring, opening one spot. They opened three more by optioning right-hander Carlos Durán, catcher Jhonny Pereda and outfielder JJ Bleday to Triple-A Las Vegas. They opened a fifth active roster spot by designating infielder/outfielder Seth Brown for assignment. That also opened one 40-man spot for MacIver/Davidson. A second was opened by transferring infielder Zack Gelof to the 60-day IL.

I count 2 to go.

- MJ: AAA
- Hunter: DFA
- Biggio: better be soon

Who’s your 4th?

(note, not taking bullpen into account)

Canha? (I think he’s ok as a backup for now, but we can do better.)

Waters? (I kinda like Drew. He’s not super refined, but he’s played hard in the field, is hitting ok and improving.)

Saw the Bananas tonight, and had fan duel running on my phone. Couple people looked at me weird a few times when the stadium wasn’t making a play, but the Royals were.

Massey. Option him to Omaha and bring up Devanney.

Interesting. Our other issues had more of my attention, but that’s not a bad idea. I wonder if that’s why Massey’s been in left a few times with India at 2nd in the last week or two.

Looks like Jac is excelling in Omaha, after the bump up from NW Arky. Not sure how much longer he’ll need, but he seems to be getting close.

That’s ridiculous.

Did something else happen before the clip they replayed a few times? There wasn’t nothing in that.

Saw the opposite of that earlier this week. Guy headed into second, defender drops a knee in the path to field the ball. Not happening this year with the rule change.

Ump didn't call it, manager asked him about it and remind him of the rule change. He got ejected.

mid it’s not illegal to block the runner’s view of the catch then that’s a garbage call.

if it is illegal to block the runner’s view of the catch, then that’s a garbage rule.

2 hits yesterday still left him in the bottom 5 WRC+ of all AL hitters.

And worth jack fuck today, too.

I read this morning that Jac may be up by the end of June. Hope he's ready and makes the final jump like he has been so far.

sucks, he was on fire ...

Alex Cora says Alex Bregman has a “significant injury” similar to the one he suffered in 2021 when he missed just over two months. There is no timetable for his return right now.

I know an agent. One of his clients is a dodgers pitcher.   Said the dodgers training regimen could be the reason.

Yeah, other team's pitchers never get hurt

After the game, Amador told The Denver Post he did not intentionally throw his glove at the ball.

“I didn’t have the glove tight on my hand,” Amador said via a translator. “The glove kind of keeps falling. It always falls. I didn’t have it tight and I jumped up. When I jumped up, the glove slipped off.”

“Life is like baseball. You can have a really good game and then follow it up with a really bad one,” Amador said. “It’s a normal feeling, but not a great one. It is what happens sometimes in the sport.”
