Jose Altuve is aiming to elevate

Jose Altuve spent most of the 17-game stretch mired in a protracted slump. He entered Thursday with a .177 batting average over his last 25 games, a funk in which he had five extra-base hits.

The Seattle series, then, brought signs of life. Altuve went 8-for-17 in the four games. He homered twice in the opener after hitting one home run in his previous 156 plate appearances. Of his 17 batted balls in play during the series, eight had an exit velocity of 95 mph or higher.

Saturday, Astros hitting coach Alex Cintrón said Altuve had made an adjustment to load into his back leg more and get to a hitting position earlier.

“We felt he was getting late in his load to start, which was causing him to land and keep going forward,” Cintrón said. “So that way … he was getting (late on) the heater, and then he was chasing the off-speed because his head was moving forward.”

90 pitches and then turn it over to Whitley to get it in the house.

Oh shit man. I just realized if Altuve gets up again (not guaranteed) he could likely be facing a position player pitching as he tries to avoid getting that 5th hit today.
maybe not, but maybe.

Dubon, Pena or Rodgers  will have to reach off the PPP first

Like I said, I hope he goes his entire career without doing it, but still seems kinda shitty.
it’d be one thing if he was playing the field tonight

Nailed it.

Lame, why does Espada hate fun

I’ll pile on and blame Espada for not going to Whitley in the 7th and get the classic 3 inning save in a 10 run game.

I mean- maybe it’s only a hamate none and he will be powerless for 18 months. A girl can dream!

Could be hamate. Could be arthritis. He could have had it amputated. The only thing we can know for sure is the Astros medical staff is lying about it.

I mean, didn't he have a hamate bone fracture a few years ago?  are we so lucky he did this in both hands?

No. Thought it might be and wasn’t. I think.

Astros lie about an injury to a star player?

No way.

Hope they bundled it with Wesneski and got half off the second surgery

Shitty but expected

Whenever anyone says a team has plenty of pitching and should trade it, that person is wrong
