do you ever yearn?

Got his brains blown out all over the Pacific.  Ain't nothing funny about that!

It's literally almost the same character.

Why does Jerry have reservations about turning his jacket inside out in the precip in front of Mr. Benes?

What color alias causes the biggest stink for Joe in "reservoir dogs"?

I'll hang up and listen.

You're not Mr. Purple...some other guy on some other job is Mr. Purple...you're Mr. PINK!

Morty Seinfeld and Frank Costanza changed actors, they could have done the same for Alton. Maybe they thought they had enough parent material with Jerry and George’s parents. Babs Kramer also only made one appearance (not counting the finale).

You also never hear about Elaine's sister ever again, nor George's brother.  Maybe there's some subtle commentary in there about how odd only children grow up to be in many cases.  But to your point, makes sense---they quickly figured out they had lightning in a bottle with the Costanzas by themselves.  Coulda been a Roper-esque spinoff (which would have invariably failed).  The Seinfelds weren't entertaining on their own but the way they annoyed Jerry, their long standing feud with the Costanzas, and Morty's little side hustles with Kramer always cracked me up.   There was really no need to add more adults to this cadre of tall Manhattan toddlers, particularly with Kramer who was wisely left a blank slate that they could just backfill with whatever they needed for the joke.

I don't think we ever see any other relatives ever for Elaine and Kramer.  For George, we see his cousin who wants to bang him in the van.  We certainly hear a lot about Uncle Mo, Heddy, and Aunt Baby.  But I don't know that any other blood relatives ever appear in person.

Jerry has grand-aunts, cousins, Uncle Leo, and some others I'm sure I'm forgetting.

I like how in an earlier season Jerry says he needs to get on that internet, and by season 9, George is selling computers by saying that it has porn (and stock quotes). Encapsulates the internets development in the 90's and that porn will always lead the way into new technologies.

And they call it the World Wide Web. You can e-mail anyone!

What are you, a scientist?!

Kramer mentions "e-mail" one time out loud.  When talking about the irrelevance of the U.S. Postal Service.  Jerry has a car phone, but even though flip phone were ubiquitous in New York by the mid-to-late 90's, I can't recall a single scene with one of the main four using one (except for Jerry's car phone on rare occasion).  Couple times a season, Jerry would be on his desktop when somebody walked in, presumably writing out material.  The above exchanges between George and Elaine, and she sometimes working on one at the office, presumably for publishing/editing purposes.

Really, the height of technological commentary on the show was the Willard.  IT HAS OTHER FUNCTIONS!

Well yeah, there's plenty of landline gags.  Was speaking more to 90's technology.

Best landline scenes:

George stealing answering machine tape like in real life Larry David.  Jerry clicking the water bottle "Uh, I think I'm getting another call.  Talk to you later..."  Giving the phone with Beijing to the Chinese delivery guy.  Jerry and the telemarketer.  George's outgoing message.  Darren on Kramer's "office line."  George calling Jerry from a payphone in a panic about the Japanese guys stuck in the chest of drawers "Uncle Leo?"  The order of preference on the pre-dials with Jerry's girlfriend and step-mom.  Noreen actually a bald dude sounding like a woman on the phone.  Anytime Kramer walks in to see Jackie Chiles, he's always on a bizarre phone call.  Elaine's psychiatrist boyfriend wrapping up the call with "Yes, Bobo..."   The airplane call with the Astros executives.  So many more I can't recall right now.

But my all-time favorite was Frank's dry delivery to Seinfeld's answering machine.

"Jerry, it's Frank Costanza.  Mr. Steinbrenner is here.  George is dead.  Call me back."

Also when Jerry's parents are living at Uncle Leo's they call him constantly because it's a local call and no longer long distance.

I felt that the car phone thing was a sign that Jerry was fairly wealthy. They reference it a few times. An odd scene to me is when he asks to stay with Jack Klampus because his bank is empty and credit cards maxed out, but when he's back at the coffee shop he says he's "nearly broke" and when asked "really?" he flippantly says "no." If he had access to money, surely he could get a plane ticket back to NY. I also don't recall any explanation how he bounced a check at Marcelino's. Was it from an old account he was closing? That usually only happens to people living on the edge paycheck to paycheck.

Apparently so was an alarm clock that had a separate volume control than the one for alarm chime volume control.

Honest to god, I've slept in literally thousands of hotel rooms over the years.  And I've never seen one of those.

Frankly it sounds.....made up.

Bizarro Kramer had the "terrific" idea of an alarm clock that tells you the weather. My wife uses Alexa for an alarm and as soon as you say stop, it tells you the weather. Maybe he'll sue and accept a settlement of free Prime for the rest of his life. Wait, it's Bizarro Kramer, he'll actually win and make a bunch of money for himself and lawyer.

That's an episode!

There's an episode, that's an episode!

-But nothing happens on the call?  How is that an episode?

Okay, well maybe something happens on the call...

-No nothing happens, it's just a phone ringing!"

-Kramer making a collect call from the payphone at the nexus of the universe.  "Hey buddy, don't say no!"

-Elaine getting a new area code. "They just multiplied it by 3 and then they added 1 to the middle number.  It's the same."

It also was weird to me how much they used the payphone at Monks. The Movie was also a product of its time, Jerry has to physically go to the theater to tell Elaine that he can't make the movie after his set was changed. Today it would be a two second text message.
