Mamdani Team to Terminate 179 Adams City Hall Staffers

Mayor’s Office shakeup in store “as is standard practice for a mayoral transition.”
Quote

Fabien Levy, a spokesperson for outgoing Mayor Eric Adams, called the layoffs, “a massive loss for New Yorkers.”

“These long time civil servants should not be the victims of political gamesmanship,” he said.

A spokesperson for Mamdani’s transition, Dora Pekec, said in a statement that “as is standard practice for a mayoral transition, the Mayor-elect and his transition team are working to build their City Hall plan, which includes new staff in key roles to ensure they can deliver effectively on their agenda.”

Mamdani said Monday that the transition team has received more than 70,000 applications to work in his administration — and vowed to shake things up to make city government run better.

Why do Dems resign? MAGA would wear this shit with honor, dems try to take the high road which never works.

This chick was, like what, a high school junior when she tweeted that stupid shit? The lengths ADL will go to do cancel culture against their perceived political enemies, but are totally fine with a grown man, who literally palled around with a present-day antisemite and knowingly spread a hateful trope about jews, not only keeping his job as a professional athlete but being heavily utilized by his team. In his case, a simple apology note is fine, right? Or, of course, when the richest man in the world does a Seig Heil in front of millions of viewers, they can look past that, right?

She's just not important enough to justify keeping her on the team, and she recognized that, but at the same time I have zero reason to believe she's actually antisemitic in adulthood. Surely an apology note like Puka Nacua's would have been good enough for her to keep her job, right? I think she would have done a great job, but so will the replacement. You don't mess with the Zohran.

I mean, I guess what one could argue as the difference is that she’s now, or rather was, a government employee and is, therefore, accountable to the citizens she worked for.

But, yeah, when you bring Elon into it, who became a very powerful quasi-public employee, causing untold damage to the country while retaining ownership of his own widely-viewed and influential toxic cesspool of a social media site filled with antisemites, to whom he provided a platform, I can see the hypocrisy.

One other irony is that the poster who seems to have a real problem with antisemites on the Left has no problem frequenting a website (and therefore financially supporting through his viewership and "clicks") that actively promotes Far Right antisemites.

Oh, and you're right to point out the Puka shit that everyone's blowing off because he's just a young meathead who plays a sport that we're all addicted to.

By the way, this woman was 18 when she made those tweets; old enough to know better but young and dumb enough to do it anyway. That said, it's unfortunate that she's part of a generation that came of age at the dawn of social media, so every stupid teenage thought they expressed online is digitally preserved for all to see until the collapse of human civilization.

I just found it astonishing that he wasn't even suspended for like a quarter. Was he even fined? I'm pretty sure MLB, NBA, even NHL would have meted out some kind of discipline.
