Great interview with Jon Stewart last night.

He’d be a great VP for whoever is the nominee. Great in public appearances, can really go after pubs, and a decorated veteran and astronaut.

I'm a big fan of Senator Kelly. Really hope he makes a POTUS run at some point.

This-I like him a lot but my time in Arizona was a single weekend in Scottsdale for an annual meeting. Why I am asked to donate money to him is beyond me.

No stone unturned.

Even "I'm a ¹$Billionaire$- I don't need your money!" TrumpEnPedo does it.

¹he's not & we all know it.

I'm sure that I'm in the minority, but I thought it was a pretty weak interview on the Daily Show. Jon tried, multiple times, to steer the conversation towards the disconnect of telling a rank and file soldier to disobey a direct order--or a private citizen to speak out against the government--while they're watching you (you being elected officials) seemingly do nothing of your own to resist, and Kelly kept sidestepping with pretty empty platitudes.

That said, how anyone can support an administration that empowers men like Hegseth and demotes and embarrasses men like Kelly and think that they're on the right side of history is beyond me.

I appreciate Stewart making the point to ask Kelly why it comes down to the soldier on the front line. Why are they telling some 20 year old they have to be the one that does something? Why not for example, a Senator? Not that I have any idea what he's supposed to do, but I do wish Kelly's answer was better.

Yeah, I'm of a similar mind and really like the guy. What also frustrates me is when Kelly or others like them throw out lines about retaking the House, Senate, or whatever, and taking this regime to task, but then Stewart doesn't question the possibility that the next election won't be fucking rigged with all the shit going on with gerrymandering, voter suppression, or Trump's buddy buying up voting machines. I want to hear a really candid conversation with someone who is much more in tune with what's going on, has much more power/access, and knowledge about what the fuck any of them are going to do about it, if in case the next election is a shitshow of "voting irregularities."

NYT had that article last year about him hawking stuff for MLMs. Rode his Harley up on stage to get people to buy, whatever, nutritional supplements or time shares or something.

I long for the class of people that knew that sort of stuff was beneath their dignity. Now it is all we have. Trump's tacky ass versus a Mary Kay star.

Kelly, and the others, are way out of line

9:40-10:30 sums it up

Kelly- its simple, if a reasonable person thinks its illegal than they ARE OBLIGATED not to follow orders.

Stewart- is blowing up drug boats illegal?

Kelly- its complicated

His video that he is being punished for was simply about illegal orders, he mentioned nothing about drug boats.

Of course you're fine with Michael Flynn.

What's really funny about you is no matter what this administration does, you're here to defend it (except the pedophilia - you've chosen to remain silent on that. Such a principled guy.)

Yeah, prior to entering politics one was a child rapist and the other was involved in pitching supplements. Hard to know who to back here.

You really really care about fraud when it is politically convenient for you, and remain silent when it is not.

still waiting for you to condemn Trump for raping children....should be an easy one.

I mean, for people who are anti child-rape, anyway

I agree. Maybe it's the public persona they're putting out but for fuck's sake, it appears the strategy is just ice the puck until the '26 midterms and they're going to sweep back into office with a House majority and maybe 50-50 split in Senate. At that point, it's just obstruct Trump until '28. Great plan IF we can guaranteed free elections. We cannot. If we lose in '26, the game is fucking over.

How about going back for seconds to make sure you kill all the survivors struggling to swim. That one "complicated" or pretty damn illegal? Agreed, that Kelly not having that one locked and loaded was poor on his part.

Also, I'm still waiting to see where it's written in law that the punishment for alleged drug running in international waters is immediate execution without trial. Someone needs to tell the Coast Guard--who take considerably more drugs off the market than missiles--that they're doing way more work than they need to. Just take out your pew pews when you see a boat, and work on your target practice.
