Unless Wingo and Coleman and Mosley all come back too, what reason would Arch have to stay? I mean he'll hopefully have Lockett, and maybe Terry and Townsend, but I can't see him staying since he'll probably have graduated college. I hope like a motherfucker he stays two more years, but that's a bit hard to imagine given this is most likely Wingo. Coleman, and Mosely's last season. But hope is a drug we are all addicted to, even the Debbie downers.

To maximize his college career and lifestyle?

This one is going to be a future staple for Thanksgiving weekend. I pray that Elko is the coach at aggy as long as I live.

I mean, yeah. That's what we think, but we also aren't high caliber athletes who don't live a normal college life like the rest of us plebs. Sure, if we pay more than a grade they get for the draft, but if you're projected (key word) to be number one overall after next season is over, why would you come back? I would love it, but it would also be really retarded. I get he does t need the money, but neither did Bijan, Worthy, Mitchell, Golden, etc. They were all paid extremely well, but not top 3 or maybe even 4 round draft pick. But let's be real here—if he's finished the season, and is winning a NC or not, Heisman, played in CFP, gets projected to be number one, he doesn't even need to do much at the combine other than height and weight check, drug test. Cam Ward signed a $48.7 million dollar contract this off-season, with an annual salary of $12.2 million. That's literally life changing money, I don't care how much you have, you're gonna take the money.

That's just my personal opinion. As a Texas fan, I want him to stay, but thinking long-term and relative health and longevity, you take the money and we will all still be grateful for him staying all four years. Sadly that's now a rare concept without transferring. This isn't the days of VY, Peyton, Eli, etc. They know it's changed as I just watched a segment with them and Tom Brady and they were talking about the portal and NIL, and they admit that it has killed development from the HS level to getting to the pros. Every year Arch will have different WR's to work with. Uncertainty. Brady and Manning were both talking about how they had stabilization, and now that's almost inert. The comings and goings of the WR room, TE, room, RBs, OL, to the transfer portal every year just isn't truly sustainable. He mentioned how they had a lot of hours of film watching with the QB room, QB coach, HC, and some others, and they no longer have that. We don't have a spring game, which already sucks for many reasons. They weren't against or for the portal, they were neutral, but recognized the flaws and how players simply aren't getting developed like they used to. Now you have kids who were top-50 in their class not willing to wait for their turn. Even in the NFL coaches are doing literally whatever it takes to win, even taking shortcuts. Brady talked about how he would bring in 50 plays on a Tuesday that he wanted to run, and that's not happening anymore, which is why the QB position is meh now.. Mahomes isn't winning another SB. Hurts probably isn't winning another one. Everything has changed from HS all the way to the NFL. They want it now. Lockett and McCutcheon (however they pan out) will be a luxury if they ball out and stay. Every year we will have to go through roster retention, portal pickups, and so on and so forth. They said most of these players don't even hang out with one another outside of football, so we have to hope Arch is the leader we think he can be and get that extra time in wherever he can to work with his WR's, TE's, RB's, whomever and convince them this is what they need to do to get better. The little things.

If you're a Texas, Bama, Georgia, Michigan, or any high level program, most of these kids aren't signing on to play four years. They want three years and an NFL pipeline. And money. It's always been that way, except now a wrench has been thrown in with unlimited legal money and portaling. There's grown ass men like Max Johnson who will be 25 and on his fouth of fifth school when the season starts. It's a clusterfuck. A quagmire.

So no, I don't believe Arch will be here the next two seasons. I believe next season is his last, and that's fine with me. I have no issues with it. If he comes back, even fucking better. I support whatever he and his family think is best because he's a team guy, just like Wingo. Coleman is a mercenary. Mosley is a mercenary. Arch and Wingo have been here 3-4 years by the time the season begins. Ultimately, I hope for the best with all of them, but I expect the most rational decisions, unless they're a moron like Taurean York who believes he's getting drafted. Then you scratch your head and wonder if CTE has been dialed up a notch.

If he goes, let's see what Lacey or Bell can do.

Is this good? It seems good.

Just some absurd catches in the endzone while blanketed. Redzone offense going to take a step.

True, but he could also transfer to a coach that would put him in a better situation, with better offensive line talent, and not wait around being the back-up to Quinn Ewers, plus he is already getting life changing money. The fact that his family has those beliefs that consistency and development are important factors seems to indicate he will stick around, and while it would be preferable to have that same consistency around one, that is not the reality of the NFL.

I don't really have strong feelings about this, just think he might be different and buck the trend.

Gerry mentioned Coleman's final list last night on the OTF stream. It was:

Texas
Tech
Alabama
ATM

I think we know why Brauny stopped hearing anything shortly after his visit there.
