  2. Anyone who gives up on trump and maga is worth talking to. I am not going to hold any illusions that anything I say can or will change their minds, though. That's a choice they can only make for themselves - to stop believing in the lie. I sweatergod it's the exact same dynamic as dealing with foaming at the mouth evangelicals. They're happy to move the goalposts indefinitely because it's not about seeking actual truth, just a personal emotional "truth". You literally cannot reason with that, and every time they interact with each other they ritually reinforce their shared hallucinations. It's a goddamn fucking death cult full of fascists. They don't even earnestly hold their positions or arguments, it's all just fodder for culture wars. Abortion is mega big bad until Trump does it. Mortgage fraud is the worst thing ever until Trump can't wriggle out of that charge. And on and on. None of it is actually deeply believed, it's all just fig leafs to never critically think about their hatred in their hearts

  5. Sure it was but Sheridan made it political.
  6. You are in Houston, they just haven't formalized the annexation process yet.
  7. Ill be more than happy to do my part for an 8 ball and some help moving a couple of dead cookers.
  8. I remember when you decided it was your duty to repeatedly say this same type of shit heading into Jake Majors’ senior season at C during that offseason. It was powerful stuff. The groundswell of support for your bravery echoed through the structural bones at Bellmont, Flood heard your demands and everything changed. Wait. No, no that’s not right. Oh yes, now it’s coming to me - nothing you bawled about mattered, Majors started all season and wound up joining an NFL organization. Keep tilting at those windmills though. They’ll fall down eventually. Make sure you leave no room for the possibility of player improvement. The Texas approach is to lock up the key roles now. Once that work is finished, we may see a flurry of additions that don’t cost anything more than scholarships. If some of those guys play their way into snaps, they’ll get some upside in future rev share. This is what they started doing in recruiting in the 2026 cycle and it sounds like they’re amplifying that in 2027. There is only so much time, employee headcount and money. No org can do everything. It’s great to plan, but also be flexible because who does or does not go into the portal becomes a real time issue. I know they fucked up the OL situation, but I’m interested in seeing if they can course correct with who is actually out there now. Everything else has gone according to plan A, or then plan B, or then plan C. OL? They flunked plan A and now we cross our fingers.
  9. Misleading caption. Should read "Would you like me to make a huge mess of things, leading you to start the entire process over again?"
  10. Focus on what gives you joy right now, and family should be up there. As relatively anonymous as you are, we love you.
  11. Surly will be buying a lot of mattresses, then.

  13. If you count Zina and Black as returning, Texas is at 83 scholarship players at this moment. It sounds like a good idea to stash a bunch of FCS/off the radar guys at the bottom of the roster, but in this new world those guys are now NIL priorities for G6/lower tier P4 schools. A guy can go from Angelo State to UNT or Tulsa, make 75k and play right away or go to Texas and be the 90th scholarship player.
  14. 105 is the hard cap for the roster not just scholarships. The back fill will be ~20 redshirts and ~20 PWO / practice squad.
  15. Surly crabbers don't need any of that shit. They just know.
  16. Houston - Agape Development
  17. I was an old screaming at the clouds but this was a consequence of paying the players
  18. Yep. Those poor whites in Selma.
  19. Texas A&M Football Anyone jealous of Indiana?King of the Dairy Queen 8:47a, 1/11/26 Its pretty humbling to look back at the last 80 years of college football: the dynasties that have risen, fallen, and rose again, the underdogs, the teams of destiny lifting trophies from all regions and conferences, the changes to the game from realignment and the bcs to nil and the transfer portal... all of which saw the Aggies win jack *****
  20. We’ve upgraded everywhere so far
  21. I would LOL if that had ever happened in my family. That's just the spoils of victory.
  22. I seriously doubt school are gonna leave 40 potential roster spots just open, or that nobody is going to take the scholarship. Instead of the major distinction being between scholarship players and walkons, the new schism will be scholarship players on NIL deals and non NIL scholarship players. Maybe it will just be the best 20 walkons, but I have to think there are FCS guys that know they are going pro in something other than football that would take a scholarship to the University of Texas.
  23. I’ll believe that when I see it across the country. If you’re making a 1 year run it seems like a smart move but I don’t believe it’s a sustainable route due to injuries, portal price tags to reload it year over year, bust potential of your HS recruits in said method.
  24. Please tell us about hemp protein. I'm hearing great things.
  25. That’s why they are continuous. Under Reagan it was euphemistic bigotry and hidden corruption. Under Bush it was polite fiction, tortured inferences and LONG stretches of truth combined with sweetheart deals and the occasional foray into fraud to go with massive incompetence and disastrous misjudgement. At no point was anyone paying attention unaware of the game. They were warned that they were pushing the world this way and they didn’t care. With Trump the mask is off, but a lot of people don’t pay close attention until they are confronted with the thing that rustles their jimmies, and the nature of media today makes that more difficult. But not it’s not a different problem, just bigger and out in the open. So anyway, there are people on this thread who are got on the right side of history after defending George Allen on Hornfans 20 years ago. I’m glad to have them. I’m also glad to have someone who gives up on Trump and MAGAISM tomorrow or the next day, and I think they are worth talking to.
