Charlie Kirk Assassinated [Shooter remains at large]

Quoting the Bible is an act of violence? -
Next saturday 9/20 is my last show of the season as it starts to get cold and wet around here soonthereafter. Tim Perry is the man behind one of my favorite Portland bands, Ages & Ages. When I reached out to him to play on my little backyard stage I never ever thought he would say yes so I am beyond thrilled to host him.

Answered before you asked. It’s divisive, hateful, and racist. @Covri put together a quick summary of Kirk’s rhetoric, if you’d like to read the quotes I was commenting upon, and from which I based my opinion. -

Love the UCLA uniforms. Hated the Colorado uniforms in the early 80's

We could use a man like Hayden Conner again

I've been listening to a lot of audiobooks the past few years, mostly Stephen King and James Lee Burke, and a few others thrown in to mix things up. I prefer the medium over books because I can plug in my earphones and go about chores and feel productive. Another advantage of audiobooks over a movie or show, is that it allows my mind to create the visuals of the landscape, the people, the situation. Books can also take you into the characters' minds to understand their motives and emotions, which is difficult to recreate on screen without some narration or inner dialogue. The latest Stephen King short story I listened to was Summer Thunder. Basically 2 guys and a dog living their last few days after a nuclear holocaust. The older of the 2 chose to shoot himself before dying of radiation poisoning. While his younger neighbor who lived 2 miles away was putting down the dog with a hypodermic syringe filled with an opioid, he heard the gun shot. "The sound was faint at this distance. But with the lake so still, there was no mistaking it for anything else. It rolled across the hot summer air, diminished. Tried to echo. Failed." I replayed the quoted part at least 5 times. So lucid. So beautiful. So sad. Stephen King is a master of words.

You know what I really liked? Devin hitting middle. AA's footwork just isn't there and frankly I don't know if you can learn quickness. When we stagnate on offense and let teams go on 7, 8, 9 point runs it really helps to have a middle who's a threat. I love AA's presence on the block but I wouldn't be mad if we saw a wrinkle from time to time of Harvey in the front or Devin hitting more out of the middle and not just on that one rotation.

Are you saying I believe my own press clippings? As far as the experts are concerned the Rainey Street Ripper is a phantom, a ghost, a figment of our imagination. I guess that’s “winning?” -

Damnit. I was thinking of Michael Ian Black, not Michael C. Hall. Retract joke.
