Coach Sark Press Conference 9.15 - 11:30am
Horn of Gabriel replied to BigOrange1's topic in Football
First, Texas should never have a rebuilding year. We're Texas. Second, in the age of the portal, there is zero excuse for a rebuild-year. Texas can go pluck almost any player at almost any position they need if they feel they are too young, too inexperienced, or too injured. If we have a rebuilding year, that is 100% on Sark and his coaching staff. Either: Arch balled out in the Spring/Fall camps and Sark didn't anticipate that he confidence would get shot by a bad game vs. OSU - in which case it's Sark's fault for not contingency planning, or Arch truly sucks because he can't handle the pressure of being the guy or didn't play strong HS competition - in which case it's Sark's fault for mis-evaluating Coaching is a zero sum game. You're either a winner or a loser. Right now Sark is 2-1, so great for him but we can all see where this season is going: 9-3 is our ceiling. 7-5 or 6-6 is more likely, with losses to OU, A&M, and Georgia. Texas has the #2 team talent composite rating in the nation. You can't go 7-5 with that. Even 9-3 is embarrassing barring major injuries. -
Soft and sensitive surly would get upset about Sark admitted Arch sucks. The rabble is roused.

Weird unrelated or related stuff regarding an incident with an incendiary device placed under a news van in Utah. Just weird. SIAP. “MAGNA, Utah — Two men have been arrested after allegedly leaving an incendiary device underneath a FOX 13 News vehicle and then forcing an evacuation of a Magna neighborhood when the FBI served an overnight warrant on their home. The men, Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, were booked into jail and face multiple charges, including Threat of Terrorism, Possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Possessing Explosive Devices The device underneath the FOX 13 News vehicle was originally located on Friday and determined to be real. According to officials, the device had been lit but "failed to function." Because of the type of device discovered and where it was located, it was considered a significant threat to public safety, leading the FBI to assume jurisdiction over the case. During the FBI investigation, the suspects were tracked to a Magna home in the 2700 South block of 8500 West.” https://www.fox13now.com/news/crime/fbi-arrests-2-after-incendiary-device-left-under-fox-13-news-vehicle crazy shit in Utah is what I chock it up to but given the assassination that occurred it’s a weird development whether unrelated or not.

Fuck that cunt. I hope she's on someone's list.

I'm listening and haven't had any issues with what he's had to say. Spinning things about as well as you can under the circumstances and keeping it positive. Not much else you can do.

Texas Football 2025 - Careening Towards the Abyss

Oh good. Let’s spread out the Connor Stroh experience to different positions while we’re also giving him 100% of the 85 snaps at LG. -
It's wild to see them just using the same tactics as they ever did: filter their talking points through an overly credulous news organization and then present it to the public as fact. This was the EXACT mechanism and tactic used to gin up the concern that "many people are saying" about the election in 2020

Charlie Kirk assassinated at an event in Utah (by a 22 YO groyper)
Vegas64 replied to msbesq's topic in Cloak Room
Exactly. My New England boss/team peppered me with cultural questions last week, "tell us about this charlie kirk guy and how everyone down there is freaking out" to paraphrase it. I have people in my life who were literally moved to tears and heartbroken by all this because they followed him so dearly. These were people I was close or semi-close and we'd never had a conversation about this guy previous to his death. Maybe it's a personal thing for them. I do think, though, that to a lot of normies and Christians, as you have called them, the Christian Father lane is how they know his work and youtube shorts, and maybe some of the college campus stuff, but the really politicized stuff I think was not as well known. To the extent that it really matters though I don't know, because if you believe in the same vein as Charlie Kirk, it doesn't seem like he's stretching too far out of the normie comfort zone in recent years (e.g. sounds like he's walked back a lot of the MAGA and J6 stuff and was more on about how abortion is awful and homosexuality is a sin-- all pretty standard stuff for those Christians who don't believe a woman is a legitimate pastor and "love is love" is reductive, bad theology). -
Arch had a great practice today! We are so BACK!!

I'm trying to understand a few things here: 1) You think people are going to look at AP voted rankings and then stop watching the game on tv? Is this a serious concern or position? Do you know how long the rankings have been idiotic? Longer than there have been tvs in most households. This goes back to the beginning, and yet viewership and interest only goes stronger. 2) You think the "2 wins vs top 25 opponents" statement is going to continue to carry water? Neither of those teams are still in the top 25. Hell, I'm not sure either Florida or Boise are even getting many votes at all. Texas went through the same shit last year. Opened the season with 4 ranked teams on the schedule and beat all but one of them. By the end of the year, many of those teams were no longer ranked and idiots were ridiculing Texas, a program that will play anyone, anywhere, any time, for having a weak schedule. They got ZERO credit for those teams being ranked earlier in the year (Michigan, OU, ATM).

It was bad for twitter warriors to do mean things to people because of stuff they said. And...to some extent they did go over the line. I hated that shit. But...the government doing cancel shit is so much worse. Talk about hypocrisy.

If you think you hate it now, wait til you drive it.

These press conference are always a must watch just to come on here and see what people get upset about that he says.

maybe a transfer qb is the way to go every year

I'd like to know where the assumption that Arch is going to later become someone we will miss comes from? Objectively, we've never seen it. -
"You guys know me, I don't make excuses." Then proceeds to make excuses about injuries being the reason the offense stinks. Ugh.

can anyone that is ACTUALLY morning CK's death please explain why. what was it about him that is so worth all this attention? because this sure looks like fascists covering for other fascists, and suppressing any dissent from those who see this as what it is. CK should not be your martyr and if he is, it 1000% undermines anything credible you can say from here. -

you only have to go back to Ohio State 3 weeks ago to have major concerns about Sark's in game management. there's nothing to "re-litigate" the combination of Arch's performance and Sark's in game management will fuck us in the ass this year more than once. -

I had an interesting situation this weekend where a cousin of mine made a long post on Facebook about how her dad (who recently passed, last month) "believed everything Charlie Kirk believed" and if you were criticizing Charlie Kirk or celebrating his death, you were doing the same for her dad. I made the mistake of trying (in a reply to the post, not in a text or call like I should have) to gently impress upon her what Kirk actually believed, and that no, her dad definitely did not believe everything Charlie Kirk did. I was immediately dogpiled by her best friend and a bunch of other people on her timeline, who assumed I was criticizing Kirk and her dad for "being Christians", which I absolutely was not doing, so I ended up deleting the reply and calling her instead. She, of course, profusely apologized for what her friend said to me and we had a long conversation after that. She had absolutely no clue about any of the heinous shit that Charlie Kirk had said over the years, and only vaguely knew of him as a publicly Christian "family man" that debated people sometimes. She is about as normie as you can possibly get so this was not a surprise to me at all. There are literally millions of people like her. -
I think it’s obvious they really would have liked another year with Williams but that doesn’t explain weak shit interior play for three years running. If it was released that DJ Campbell was actually deaf and couldn’t hear snap counts it would help explain a lot. Those Bama lines that got Sark and Flood the Texas jobs were mostly recruited under Brent Key, who’s clearly a badass.
