I think the fact this isn’t happening is fair evidence there isn’t the value in it on either side. #1, the athletes don’t want to do anything that requires work when they see their peers getting paid for nothing and #2, most of the players lack the kind of fame that would justify a legitimately made agreement. Where there are exceptions to this, imo, it’s mostly in women’s sports. Someone like Madisen Skinner with HEB, for example.
You are missing the big picture. Livingstone and McCutcheon are both from Lovejoy. Say they both get pushed out after their first year you can say goodbye to getting recruits from Lovejoy going forward. Same with Dibble and the punter from Atascocita. I worry about us burning bridges to high schools that have good talent because of our inability to get kids coached up/minutes/ keep them feeling like they are part of the program. All these kids know each other and are paying attention to what's going on with the classes before them. They talk. If our high school recruits keep not working out we are going to start losing them. That's my real worry. That's the shit that was happening in the 2000's. Ricky(we all love Ricky) was having his issues staying on the field. Cedric flamed out. The big 3 receivers flamed out. We started to be known as the school that couldn't develop offensive players. Then we stop getting them. Texas has not produced one Mike Evans. Look how many LSU got. That's my worry. You start to develop a rep and then the well dries up.
I think she's most likely dead too. But because all of those other kids "believe," they've left the door open. The cynic in me expects a money grab return 10 years from now if the Duffers' and Millie Bobby Brown's careers have gone stagnant. Mike gets a blank postcard with a photo of three waterfalls on the front...
He was clearly their best WR over the spring and summer til he injured his knee in fall camp... They are stoked right now since they are sure that satenga returns.. So he along with trell (uva) and Parker gives them a upgraded WR unit from a year ago.. Add in the blocking TE from UF and another blocking TE visiting today (Yale).. They feel this offense is championship ready.
It used to be up there with National Signing Day, but the excitement of realignment was been watered down a bit with the preemptive release of the tiers for each classification along with the final snapshot numbers. Back in the day there would be surprises galore and some oh shit moments when THAT team moved into your District or moved up/ down a class on the cutoff line. National Signing Day ain't shit any more either...LOL; but yeah, there's still a couple of decisions UIL has to make on where to place certain schools due to geography or whatever. There are some definite WTF's on the DCTF mock ups.
Picked up our new foster today. This is Felix. He's 5 and some worthless human gave him up because he didn't fit into their holiday plans. Felix has never seen stairs and is having trouble with the down part.
