  1. Past hour
  2. Probably the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in person in my life was behind the counter in the DQ in Buffalo. I actually stopped within 6 feet of the counter and did a 360 looking for the cameras-nope. Early evening shift, but it was 30 years ago. About 18, nearly 6 foot tall, and pure Miss America quality. Good luck with your miserable commutes.
  3. Motherfuckin Charlie Strong nailing it about social media/the internet almost a decade ago will never not be hilarious to me.
  4. I don’t know about him, but I find it good sport. All of the shit you idiots dismissed is now a factor for your conference. 1) Worrying over the monies and begging for fucking congress to do something so you guys can get access to the same pool of money as the SEC and Big 10. 2) Pressure to schedule better from your media partners because otherwise no one fucking cares about putting you on the major channels until league play. “no one cares about the non-con and we’ll be just fine! right. “
  5. There are no helmet schools in the B12. That's what we're saying.
  6. Is White Settlement too obvious?
  7. Our universities are so fucked.
  8. Peyton hates tennis talk.
  9. I wouldn't go to an NFL game with a free ticket.
  10. It feels like cancel culture run amok. It is very intoxicating to be able to shame or blacklist someone online. Social media has only made it easier and there's a bit of getting out pitchforks in a very public way. I guess it's easier to live in your bubble where only your worldview is fed to you. We see it on both sides with people's media feedback loops. People get shouted down for different or "offensive" speech. It's very black and white thinking. There is no longer any grey or nuance. You have to be fully committed one way and it better be "the right way". I see it with my own teens and try to challenge them to look at things from different perspectives. I relay to them my own history of thinking one way for a long time and then changing later in life. If I were held to the standard they hold people to based on my past beliefs, I would be cancelled by them. It feels like this generation doesn't allow people to make mistakes, think less than ideal things, and be able to recover from those past misdeeds. If you do something wrong at any point of your life, that will be forever held against you. It's very strange behavior that might come back to bite them in the ass since they live so online constantly. I think my oldest would be mortified if her posts as a preteen and early teenager were served back to her when she's in her 20s. It feels like a generation that doesn't want their worldview challenged. Then again, I could be an old man now who is doing the same thing my father did about my generation, bitching about how they just don't get it.
  11. For many people dissent and opposing views are their Satan. It is not allowed and it must be avoided at all costs. This is nothing new. I agree that it is fucked up and should be different, but whatcha gonna do?
  12. It also might be that BCBSTX for State employees is not at this time.
  13. Dad of the year holding his toddler next to the balcony ledge getting a couple shots in
  14. How about we start winning and try to make the playoffs
  15. Kids/young adults these days have been raised on phones/internet where instant satisfaction is easily found. Combine that with hands off/poor parenting and you develop an intrinsic deep rooted thought that they're always right. They have no sense of the bigger picture, they have no reading of social cues anymore, it's basically a look at me world and they're there to film it for "likes" which sadly is mostly what they care about now. I know that was a bit broader than what you asked, but the intolerance starts at the root.
  16. I’ve been making this drive 2 to 3 times a month for a very long time. On my way up it’s usually just Schlotzky’s in Huntsville. But if I leave early enough, and I’m feeling breakfast-y, I’ll go to the Black Walnut Cafe (at the Conroe Airport) www.blackwalnutcafe.com On my way back I usually always stop at Farmhouse Cafe. And I get the catfish almost every time. If I have time after that I’ll head over to the antique stores and look for records. Sometimes I’ll take the back way through Groesbeck, Hearne, etc.
  17. Missed a hell of a 4th qtr We really had no business winning after looking like a pop Warner team the first 3 qtrs

  19. True. Although I’m dating myself, I was in undergrad during the Bush II years and I remember a lot of neocons speaking on campus to some fanfare/protests, but no one was trying to get anyone fired for allowing it. Stufents shouting down Ann Coulter comes to mind. Protests about the content of the speaker’s ideals? Sure. Trying to fire the college dean for allowing the speaker? Not so much.
  20. You're considering Johntay Cook a loss?
  21. Helmet schools meaning marquee. Like the Lakers, Yankees, Cowboys (Dallas), etc. a traditional power that gets people to tune in.
