  2. Broncos would love to have him.
  3. There reasons were multiple and Ewers was a part of that. Pocket presence was a wreck, which made the OL look worse. He was a turnover machine in his final year, nobody seems to remember that. The OL was one of the best pass blocking units in the country. RB was an issue in his last year. Running struggled vs high-end opponents (not unusual). Texas had drops and penalties that made things harder. All that said the defense was the reason Texas won 13 games. Ewers was solid QB here but was not really capable of carrying a team. Not sure why this BS is starting up again. Ewers has posted a 27.4 and a 34.7 QBR in his 2 starts. PFF gave him a 47.7 grade vs the Bucs and 59.2 vs the Bengals. I hope he continues to improve and becomes an NFL starter, but there is no reason to dig up this BS based on his first 2 starts.
  4. 2 things I would like to see added to the bowl season, and I doubt they are legal- but they damned sure would be justified: 1) Make 25% or more of the NIL money payable to players upon completing the season with the team in good faith. 2) Coaches are not allowed to leave their teams until the season is complete. Tie money into it or whatever. Stop the bullshit before teams are even done playing. IDGAF about their future teams- fulfill your current commitment. Also, this is Godspower Nwawuihe, and you're damned right I had to google his last name. He WAS a Freshman QB for Army who had great potential and speed. On the regular season, he had 9 carries for 25 yards, while having zero passing attempts. In the Fenway Bowl vs UCONN, he played RB, which granted- for Army isn't a huge move- but they gave him reps and he ate, to the tune of 171 yards and 2 TDs on 12 carries with a long of 70 yards with at least 4 broken tackles. It is common to laud the extra practices a team gets for Bowl season; but if you don't think that game gave Army faithful a lot to look forward to after Nwawuihe ran away with the Offensive MVP award, welp, you don't want to see any positives in the Bowl games. Tis but one example, but also an outstanding one.
  5. Definitely agree in the case of the ‘free roof’ companies; you have to be leery of anyone who opens their pitch by telling you (without directly saying it) that they’re going to rip off your insurance company. Oh, but you’re going to do a high-quality, professional job on my roof and not fuck me over somehow too? Go fuck yourself…
  6. Were you under the impression that our NIL resources were infinite? If so, then why?
  7. Needed big games from Stafford and Pitts, so of course Stafford literally had negative points at halftime and Pitts one catch. Oh well, at least I didn’t need to stay up late for this bullshit.

  9. If we’re already citing finite resources then we’re truly not all in. Nick Marsh is better than every receiver on our current roster. OTF pushing needing a speedy slot seems like a misuse of the portal for receiver. We have a 5 star coming in that is the most electric receiver we’ve recruited since Worthy. Use him and get him up to speed. If a receiver can’t get up to speed with your offense then change the complexity of your offense. No fucking way should receivers struggle to learn an offense in this day and age of football. Lastly you don’t have to be a 10.3 track guy to be wide open deep or to create separation.

  11. We all know he stopped yelling at clouds to take that pic. He was too old to help slave by then.
  12. The solution is to make players employees, and make bowl participation part of their enforceable contract. Or instead of giving players trinkets, give them half of the money the school/conference gets from being in it. That would immediately solve the problem. Bowls have always been meaningless exhibitions. The difference is that 40 years ago, the media told you how much they mattered, so everyone bought into that. For the last 20 years we've beaten over the head with the message that there's too many, they don't matter, and the only thing that matters is being the national champion. Eventually (players first, then fans) enough people bought into that messaging and here we are. Bowls are something to have on in the background in a slow time of year. They get excellent ratings as a result, and it's more football. On top of that, it makes college football one of the few sports where someone other than the champion has an opportunity to end the season on a high note. Having my team opt out of a bowl game this year has made me realize how much I did actually care about the last part.
  13. Our existing WR room is adequate and I don’t think we need to go after a Cam Coleman type given we have finite resources. The problem is our best guys have overlapping skill sets. What we need is a Sategna/Craver type that will be wide the fuck open down the field if their speed isn’t respected. I’m sure those guys weren’t cheap but they also weren’t marquee players in last year’s portal.
