  1. Past hour
  2. Kids/young adults these days have been raised on phones/internet where instant satisfaction is easily found. Combine that with hands off/poor parenting and you develop an intrinsic deep rooted thought that they're always right. They have no sense of the bigger picture, they have no reading of social cues anymore, it's basically a look at me world and they're there to film it for "likes" which sadly is mostly what they care about now. I know that was a bit broader than what you asked, but the intolerance starts at the root.
  3. I’ve been making this drive 2 to 3 times a month for a very long time. On my way up it’s usually just Schlotzky’s in Huntsville. But if I leave early enough, and I’m feeling breakfast-y, I’ll go to the Black Walnut Cafe (at the Conroe Airport) www.blackwalnutcafe.com On my way back I usually always stop at Farmhouse Cafe. And I get the catfish almost every time. If I have time after that I’ll head over to the antique stores and look for records. Sometimes I’ll take the back way through Groesbeck, Hearne, etc.
  4. Missed a hell of a 4th qtr We really had no business winning after looking like a pop Warner team the first 3 qtrs

  6. True. Although I’m dating myself, I was in undergrad during the Bush II years and I remember a lot of neocons speaking on campus to some fanfare/protests, but no one was trying to get anyone fired for allowing it. Stufents shouting down Ann Coulter comes to mind. Protests about the content of the speaker’s ideals? Sure. Trying to fire the college dean for allowing the speaker? Not so much.
  7. You're considering Johntay Cook a loss?
  8. Helmet schools meaning marquee. Like the Lakers, Yankees, Cowboys (Dallas), etc. a traditional power that gets people to tune in.
  9. It’s not particularly new for college students to believe that they have a right to silence speech they believe conflicts with their moral values, and it’s not particularly confined to the left or right. You can’t even begin to count the number of guest lectures that have been pulled down on college campuses over the last 15 years or so after undergrad groups threw fits over the content. It is fairly new for the chief executive of the country to indulge their tantrums.
  10. Hate is passed down from generation to generation with great pride. "Heritage, not hate" is usually how you can ID that type of chud.
  11. Wordle 1,543 3/6 ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ 🟩⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  12. It all started with Lady Bird Lake.
  13. I'm talking about the post-school shooting thoughts. You know, the really good kind.
  14. Critical thoughts will not be tolerated.
  15. Narrator: he wasn't Top 3 from the jump...but for Chicago.
  16. But what about thoughts?
  17. Young people have always been idiots. Look at who raised them.
  18. Great fun movie, only weak spot is the son.
  19. It’s funny because I don’t think of this as a buddy cop movie (I guess it is kind of but Murphy wasn’t a cop). I know it came later but Lethal Weapon seems like the buddy cop movie that defined that genre. How bout This is Spinal Tap for mockumenteries.
  20. Step back and look where we are. Four days ago, the fucking Speaker of the House said that the President is an FBI informant in a case involving the trafficking of a thousand girls, many or most of which were underage. It's barely in the news today because the lunatic president declared that Chicago was soon going to find out why the Department of Defense has been renamed the Department of War. Also, just last week, the president and his family cashed in to the tune of billions in their latest cryptocurrency scheme. All the while, the economy teeters on ruin, not because of anything cyclical or remotely normal, but all due to the utter insanity of this stupid, thoroughly corrupt piece of shit that is constantly granted more power by the Supreme Court and a lapdog Congress. 40% of people, give or take, still support this. Anybody want to attempt to minimize this shit and tell me I'm over reacting? Any of you DTs safe space punks want to offer why you're still in that 40% of core support?
  21. I quote this movie to this day. I know it has lots of accolades, but somehow I feel like it’s not given its due. One of my favorite comedies to this day. Very much ahead of its time and I would be subversive again somehow with all this trans / drag backlash.
  22. I read this article on the Texas Tribune about an A&MDean getting fired for not forcing a professor to toe the line and teach that LGBT people exist. https://www.texastribune.org/2025/09/08/texas-am-video-professor-student-gender-identity-content/ Putting aside the politics of it, my main take away is that this is because some 18-22 year old undergrad got his or her or their (see what I did there?) feels hurt. I kind of expect this from the older generation. But Gen Z? Being so butt hurt that someone expressed a differnt worldview that they film it and post it online and actively try to get other professor fired? That was surprising to me. Very Karen-esque energy.
