  2. Even worse, his research may already be obsolete https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/phase-3-valor-lyme-disease-trial-valneva-and-pfizer
  3. this is a top 50 - what the fuck you mean by the headline thread of the past 3 years. Well done, asshole.
  4. If you plan to attempt high-minded, you must deliver same. I'm neither a grammarian nor an English teacher. Writing has been my job or part of my job for 35 years. A&M's most esteemed man of letters presents himself with a raised nose and raised sense of himself. From a college man: Dear Mister Farkquar Fuckstain, Your writing improves with every new effort. This represents your best work to date. Sadly, you undermine your premise with name-calling and a logical argument that stabs itself in the testicles. You state that you observe two "tu" students who speak poorly. You conclude that all "tu" (if only this institution of higher learning could dispense with that silly slur!), students must be uneducated and poor speakers. This reasoning is equivalent to suggesting that you've observed three left-handed mechanics, therefore all mechanics must be left-handed. [Farkquar reads this and thinks, Yes, and?] Perhaps you, yourself, should consider becoming a mechanic. They make excellent money and are not called upon for much, as you describe, professional communication. The good news, Mr. Fuckstain, is that you are well on your way to passing Remedial English this time around! Well done!
  5. Any fanbase that worships Johnny Football has no room to speak.
  6. It’s kind of crazy for this OTF poster to think we’re going to increase that percentage next year. Barron and Mukuba were a big part of that. Paul Waddlington pointed out that Guilbeau and Muhammad have combined for 1 turnover in their careers. Turnovers on both sides of the ball for us will probably go down next year.
  7. KC Donuts on Brodie Ln in Austin was my atf. They're like the best bbq places - they close early and when they're gone, they're gone.
  8. The guy would have to just decide that he preferred Texas for reasons other than money. Texas isn’t being outbid by Oregon right now. He’s coveted by everyone recruiting him as one of their highest guys on the board regardless of position. Think of him less as a safety and more of a potential wizard. He can cover like a corner and he can see the future like the best safety prospects every 5 years or so - Ed Reed, Earl Thomas, Mathieu, Downs. He’s also a bad ass returner. That comes from someone that graded all of those other guys and sees him in that light and has confirmed where he is on everyone’s boards. If Texas landed him, he’d be 1b to Atkinson’s 1a and, yes, I know that Texas is signing some amazing talent in this class.
  9. All this food talk and not one… ONE GD review of Wahlburgers!
  10. What kind of morons decided that the best way to transport, present, and serve bacon is in an upright fry box?
  11. Pitching staff is loaded. Lineup will have 1-2 holes unless we hit on Pack/Hill/Larson.
  12. Yep. Often, when siblings live in different places, it makes sense for one sibling to carry the bulk of the load. Everyone gets that. It doesn’t mean that you can’t acknowledge that one sibling is covering for the others. And if you’re the “distanced” sibling, when the one that is on site asks you to cover while they take a vacation, you really need to try to do that. An attitude of “I’m just too busy to rearrange everything and come up there to help” (I have a SIL who doesn’t work and has no kids, who is the busiest Goddamned person in the world) is really shitty. Especially combined with “you seem to have it handled pretty well”.
  13. He's right. That alignment was horrible.
  14. When I was nine, my parents let me watch a double feature of Friday the 13th Part II and The Howling. I feel like it somehow prepared me for Surly game threads.
  15. Can't write a post better than Katie Tightpussy
  16. Jaws fucked me up when I was a kid. We had to leave early when it was showing at the old Highland Mall theater As a teen it was Poltergeist and A Nightmare on Elm St. Family stories of La Llonora got me good. Horror House (1969) with Frankie Avalon is actually a pretty good slasher flick. Oh and I could not get past the opening scene of The Plague Dogs. Fuck that animated movie.
  17. It’s Gerry’s opinions, so yes.
  18. Some of my favorite mornings as a kid were early weekend mornings rolling the Chronicle and throwing my neighborhood paper route. Once I finished, I’d head to Shipley’s to meet up with my buddies who had just wrapped up their routes. We’d eat too many fresh donuts, talk and feel important, and then I’d go home and sleep until early afternoon.
  19. This is worth your time - a real-world example of what the GOP's defunding of public broadcasting is doing (contrary to the "iT's aLl wOkE cRaP aNd NoBoDy lIsTeNs" narrative): https://www.cnn.com/2025/07/29/media/pbs-npr-trump-defund-rescissions-alaska-remote-stations
