I’m cautiously optimistic heading into the season and think Arteta has us heading in the right direction. Gabriel should be a big boost to the back line if they can close the deal (reported to be close), and the youngsters should continue improving after getting experience last year.

without him and Leno we'd have been in a relegation fight last year.

It just feels like everyone is on the same page... players have clear direction and the consistency is showing.

Will be really interesting to see what happens in the market. AMN has looked too good and is too versatile to let go. Gotta hope we can get Ceballos in. Sounds like Holding might be moving. Torreria sadly not working out. Can we get a decent number for Martinez? Lotta questions...

Looks like Martínez is leaving for ~ £20m (Brighton or Villa). Don’t blame him for wanting playing time. What a player he was, subbing for Leno last season. Thank you, Emiliano. Always a Gunner

•Gabriel scores

•Willian with two assists and a great work rate

•Auba with another brilliant goal that started from a goal kick

•Laca gets the start and scores

•Three away goals

•Clean sheet

Thats a helluva start to the season, and a helluva lot better than we've been starting our seasons/playing on the road in general. Still definitely need to add Auoar/another dynamic attacking mid, but a really encouraging opening match. COYG! 🔴

Wasn't able to get up for match yesterday after late Friday night so got to watch replay this morning.  Really good to see them come out and rather than fucking around with a team like Fulham they went ahead and dispatched them with ease.  We are not to the point where we are going to win constantly when running with the really big boys so it's important to make sure we kick the scrubs in the teeth.

Oh and @texanbychoice.....nice effort.

I just saw that Spurs lost to Everton.  I thought, "would it even be worth the effort to drop by and point that out on the Spurs thread?"  Then I thought, "Nope, nothing really out of the ordinary going on."
