  1. I don’t know what you consider cheap, but Izakaya Wa has great non-raw fish options. It’s on Memorial a block east of the West Belt. Kind of off the street. Siri will help you find it.
  2. Think of it as a sincere and respectful "homage". I assure we we all do. 🤘

C’mon. Your complaint wasn’t size but difficulty in peeling. They’re easier to peel earlier in the season. You don’t have to believe me, all same same to me.

Uhmmmm. I’m no marine biologist, but I’ve eaten a few bugs over the last fifty years. By May, they’ve pretty much quit molting so the shells just get thicker and thicker. They’re easier to peel earlier in the season, so you’re waiting out the good times. (Edited to Add: I like BB’s fine. Bayou City has been our favorites the last few years, but I haven’t had any this year at all.)

Looks like the one I was thinking of is still there after all. LINK

Red Onion was the place on Eldridge just south of Memorial, right? Drowned in Harvey? If so, I ate there once or twice but don’t remember much about it.
  7. That seems contradictory. Water's assholishness prevents me from thoroughly "immersing" in his performances as much as I did in my younger years with Floyd, both with and without Waters. Floyd's live performances in the 70s (with Roger) and the 80s and 90s (post Roger) were all transcendent. I had much better seats for Water's tours with DSOTM and The Wall, but his political bullshit gets tedious. We get it - you hate Jews. And don't bother telling me that I don't have to go see him. I'm aware. 🤔
  8. You mean y’all don’t use your real photos?
  9. Y'all do know that there's a little white peppercorn inside every black peppercorn you grind, right? Same fruit but prepared differently. Green peppercorns also. Quality peppercorns are incredible. Pink, Szechuan, etc are different plants altogether.
  10. Hold up. You went through all of the logistics to "arrive" in Tulum, but couldn't be bothered to visit the Mayan ruins? Dude.
  11. I went by the redeveloped Canino's Market, now known as the "Houston Farmers Market" on Airline just before Christmas. Its still mostly vacant, but some of the old vendors are still there and "this guy". He gave me his name but I've forgotten it. He said he's there six days a week. It wasn't convenient to buy any at the time, but I will the next time I'm there for sure.
  12. Actually they are the same. Alamo Tamales on Berry offer two styles. Those are the machine made ones. They are much cheaper but vastly inferior to the hand rolled ones I mentioned above. Both are available at the Berry facility. Also, they have beef, bean and jalapeno, etc. We usually just get the pork, but also got a half dozen beef this year. Highly recommended.
  13. We have been getting ours from Alamo Tamales on Berry in Houston for over a decade now. During that time they built a big new facility next to the old converted hovel but the tamales are just as good. Of course they were $9.99/dz back then and $15.99/dz now, but they're still just as good. That's for pork. Beef are $1 more.
  14. I like the pricing structure.
  15. Ah yes...Victoria. As bold as she is beautiful. You don't want the front row. She works hard - yes. But the smell! And of course, we all know what BC stands for. 😉 Say no more. Say no more!
