  1. I'm on my way to pick up my mom and take her up north of Tomball to watch the train procession. Vaya con dios, sir.
  2. Lincoln Riley was NOT named for the sixteenth president, but for the back seat he was conceived in. His mom wanted to name him after his father, but she wan't sue which Shriner it was.
  3. If you can get ahold of this guy, you can force him to help you.
  4. Once upon a time, Little Dougielocks needed to feed three hungry bears so he mixed a can of BBQ beans and a can of charro beans and they were juuuuust right. The end
  5. Done. You're in a close second right now.
  6. Good luck finding one open.
  7. Are the menus still in Aramaic?
  8. Were you pitching or catching?
  9. Great work. I love themed food crawls and have done crawdads, raw oysters, tamales, Schwarma, crispy tacos, chicken wings, and I don't know what else. Rarely sober though. 😉
  10. As noted above many times, Oklahoma basically use the Horns down as their de facto "hand sign". They do it without thinking about it the same way we do it "up". The Horns down offends me not at all, but if the refs are gonna give us 15 yards every time some dumbass sooner throws it, then I say
  11. Are we talking life-threatening allergies or just gastrointestinal distress? 'Cause you know? Some things are just worth powering thru.
  12. P.S. You could even give them green and red chile sauces to dress the tacos.
  13. For that many people, do fajitas and chicken breast tacos. Pork is iffy for dietary restrictions for that many people. Fajita make-your-own tacos is the way to go. Beans and rice even.
  14. Cracker Jack Pork Rinds Pizza Rolls
  15. SNL should offer to donate a gazillion dollars to some veteran's organization if Donald Trump would go on tonight and imitate Alec Baldwin getting in a street fight. They won't though.

Had lunch at Lupe Tortillas on I-10 at Echo a couple of weeks ago and thought it was pretty damned good. I had only ever been to the original near 10 and 6 and even that had been a decade or so ago. I ordered the plato tipico with tamal, cheez enchi, taco, r & b. Everything was good, but the frijoles refritos were outstanding.
  17. That's awesome news. Love Scholz. Even when the food sucked.
  18. Actually the universe is absolutely rife with amazing "coincidences", each of which is vital to the possibility of us being here to wonder at it. From the composition and distribution of the early universe, to the distance of the Earth to the Sun, to the event that decimated the dinos, it's not only miraculous that we are here at all, but the same improbable chain of events has almost inevitably been repeated billions of times elsewhere in the cosmos. And yet some people still don't believe in God. Makes ya wonder...
  19. Fort Ticonderoga is a restored star fort at the southern end of Lake Champlain that was pivotal in the American Revolution. I love that shit. Montreal seems to check all of the boxes in your "Likes" but seems to check all of the boxes in your "Dislikes as well, so...
  20. Thank God Austin has its own homegrown disaster scientist to take command if necessary.
  21. If you like cheese and are ever in Houston, you must check out Houston Dairymaids on Airline between Canino's market and Pinkerton. Tell 'em Doobie sent you. It won't mean anything to them, but it ought to be good for a giggle. 🧀
