  1. Hey man, we don't have 3.2 beer anymore! How dare you!
  2. I discovered water in my garage, coming from around my shitty old garage fridge. I figured the cold has finally killed it and it was thawing out. But then I heard the dripping water. A pipe had busted (I thought). This was late last night, so the wife called a 24hr plumber, they said they'd be here this morning. Well, it turns out the wife had talked to the answering service and they overbooked for this morning. They'll be here today but we don't know when. I decided to clear out the part of the garage to give them access. It turns out that it wasn't a busted pipe in the wall. The filter for the icemaker had ruptured. I was able to shut of the water and we're ok for now. I think I'll have to replace some drywall, though.
  3. I have power. I get no water at all from the hot side, it's not flowing. The cold side is fine. I'm sure the main pipe/line from the water tank is frozen.
  4. I woke up to find that I have no hot water. Cold water is flowing strong. Water heater is in the garage. I have no idea how to get those lines heated up. Water heater is gas, FWIW.
  5. The rolling blackouts have arrived in OK. We lost power for almost exactly one hour. Got the womenfolk charging their phones and laptops. Luckily, our governor left for vacation right before the storm hit. Fuckwad.
  6. After many hours of using a small space heater to heat up the walls in my laundry room, the pipes were thawed at around 11:15 last night. Much rejoicing in the house. I ran the load that was in it and when it was done, I ran it for another round with nothing in it, just to keep the water flowing in the pipes. The wife and I celebrated with some late-night nookie. After we finished, we heard the washer go off and she went to check it for anything out of the ordinary. When she came back, I said I wanted to run it again. She said "Oh, I thought I'd run the dishwasher instead." We've had zero problems with the dishwasher, not sure why she thought that was important. I was too tired to argue with her, so I went to bed. Any guesses as to the status of the washer lines this morning??? Fucking hell. The heater is back in place and the process has started all over.
  7. I drove over to my mother-in-law's and borrowed a space heater. I have it blasting the wall behind the washer. Hopefully this will do the trick.
  8. I did the laundry yesterday and thought I'd wash the bedding today, just to keep the pipes clear. No water to the washing machine. The showers, dishwasher and all faucets are fine, just nothing to the washer. The pipes go into the wall in the laundry room, no chance to do any preventive measures, nor can I see a way to thaw them out. I don't know if anything has burst in the wall, it's been below freezing here for days here in central OK. But it worked fine all day yesterday, so I'm stumped. How can I thaw this out when I can't see or reach any pipes?
  9. 2002 World Series game 6: Giants blow a 6 run lead and lose. I knew they'd lose game 7 and they did. I never thought I'd see a WS title in my life, thankfully I was wrong. 2002 NCAA final: Indiana took the lead in the 2nd half but let it slip away. I felt like I had seen my last chance to watch IU win another title and I'm pretty sure I'm right. My dad was born & raised in Bloomington and there's no one else on the planet that I can talk with about IU hoops and I really wanted to have them win one when I was an adult, so we could talk about it. Dad's 73 and not all that healthy, IU hoops is trash. The dream is gone.
  10. I sat in one at Carmax once. I felt like I was in a shipping container. Couldn't see out the back and there was an echo anytime we spoke. I was turned off after that. But now? I'm rethinking my position.
  11. I've never cared for FJs but damn, this makes me want to get one. Reading that thread was kind of emotional, glad the guy's alright.
  12. We had a bad ice storm in OKC about 5 years ago. I debated on calling in but I was raised by hard-working parents that always emphasized working every day and not being a goldbrick. I was crawling down I-40 at 20-25 mph and I just spun out, hit the barriers and totaled the car. Luckily I didn't hit anyone else. Called work and told them, I never heard anything from them afterwards. No "Are you OK?", nothing. Ever since then, I say "Fuck you, not driving" anytime we get ice. They don't care if I get in a wreck? I don't care if shit doesn't get done that day. I'm fortunate that I work for the state and have leave I can use, a lot of people don't have that luxury. It's supposed to snow like a motherfucker on sunday/monday, so who knows when I'll be going back in?
  13. My dad was career USAF and I grew up overseas, hearing it all the time. Every time AFN started/ended their broadcast day; before any event on base. Shit, they play it at the movies before the film starts. I remember the first time I went to a movie after we came back to the States, I told my dad "Uhh, do they not do the anthem here?". He laughed. Having said that, I don't think it's a huge deal to play it or not. Each venue should make their own decision on whether or not to do it. The whole argument feels like a waste of energy.
  14. I seem to remember Wilson shilling for some "recovery water" with "nano-bubbles" that was supposed to keep him from getting concussed. Drink up, fuckface.
  15. Even better. Russell got 11 titles in 13 years. Fucking insane. Had two in college as well, just for good measure.
  16. I'm not trying to confuse anything. I'm saying either take the millions or don't. I assume he wants the cash because he signed the deal. If he decides that football isn't his thing, he can move on and do something else. IDGAF what he does.
  17. Would this happen to be "I Heart Mac & Cheese"? My daughter worked there a couple of years ago when they opened up in our town. It didn't last, prices were high and the parent company was always messing with things. Good food but my kid said most customers balked at the prices.
  18. The Giants didn't have leverage. San Diego drafted Eli, who said he'd refuse to sign. He would've gone back into the draft next year and SD would've eaten that pick. So Eli had the leverage. The NYG wanted him, he wanted to go there. They made the trade and he signed with NY. The real drama was from Phillip Rivers' agents. Because he got traded from 4th to 1st, they wanted him to be paid like the #1 pick.
  19. You can get one, but for less years and total money. Kirk Cousins got one. But they know they deal before they sign, it shouldn't take them by surprise. Roll the dice for a chance of a multi-million dollar salary or take a regular job like the rest of us chumps.
  20. He wasn't under contract. Doesn't mean it wasn't a bitch move, but it's not like he signed for 100+ million and THEN told SD he wasn't playing there.
  21. I take my Amazon returns to Kohl's, they handle that shit now. Easy as pie.
  22. He boxed the guy that played Horschach on Welcome Back Kotter. A much smaller and older guy. DD roughed him up. It was just all-around bad TV.
  23. Looks like it was all downhill after he won the Heisman. Sad.
  24. Ha, I thought about it for a second but I have a '16 Lariat and if I'm being honest, I like mine better.
