  1. I've told this one before but we had a new boss get appointed by the governor and he was scheduled to come around and meet all of us plebes. This wasn't new for me, so I was going over my mental checklist: eye contact, Nice to meet you sir, firm handshake. Dude is brought over to our area, I stand up and thrust out may hand, "Nice to meet you, Sir". He didn't have a right hand, just a nub with part of a fingertip on it. Fuck. To his credit, he just smiled and used his left hand. I'm sure he was used to it.
  2. My wife gives me my testosterone shot every saturday, has done for 3 years now. I just got a new bottle of the stuff last week. Fast forward to yesterday, I said hey, it's time for the shot. The new bottle is gone and the empty one is sitting on the counter. I realize what's happened: she threw away the new bottle last week by mistake. Not a huge deal, right? I didn't even say anything, I just took a shower. I can hear her searching around but it's gone, we both know what's happened. She refuses to admit it. I get out of the shower and she says "I can't find it anywhere!" and I said "That's because it got thrown away.". She absolutely will not acknowledge this, nor has she even bothered to give a half-ass "Hey, sorry if I tossed it out". It's like it never happened.
  3. You could roll the dice and get something on Wish. I bought a Scotty Cameron putter on there for $85, real ones go for $300. I compared it to the real one my buddy has, it's virtually indistinguishable. It even has all the hologram stickers and serial numbers on it. On the other hand, I bought a pair of Yeezy sneakers on there for $30 and....yeah. They look ok from 20 feet away but they feel like the cheapest thing I own. Basically a moderately comfortable houseshoe, as I don't wear them out of the house.
  4. Shouldn't we all boycott injustice? JFC, who wrote this shit, an Albion grad?
  5. I've been saying for years, they need to take guns away from the street cops. Send them in pairs with OC spray and a taser, save the guns for the goon squad or SWAT team. They'll be a lot more respectful to the citizenry in a short amount of time.
  6. My parents were married for 38 years when my mom died. Dad expected that he'd drop dead in the next week or so. Coming up on 14 years later, he's still shuffling around. We're both kind of surprised, TBH.
  7. I remember when he turned pro and struggled for a long time. I thought he was a bum that wouldn't make it in golf. Whoops.

No shit, that's why I'm mad I didn't see this until I was in my 40s. This would've come in handy in 1983 or so.

My great-grandfather came to the US from Argos and my mom had always wanted to go to Greece. My dad was able to take her in 1981 or so, left us kids with the neighbors (thanks, mom & dad). Out of the many pics he took (and converted to slides, as one did in the 70s/80s), I still can't believe he took this one.
  10. As an Indiana fan, I'll admit to sending the bottle-pop GIF to my friends last night. Fuck the zags and their weak conference schedule.
  11. I always get the one marketed as a "US Navy" shower head. Small, no frills but you get that extra power. I've put them in every house I've lived in, can't do without it. Here's an example. I don't have this one but 95% of them look like this. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Delta-1-Spray-1-6-in-Single-Wall-Mount-Fixed-Shower-Head-in-Chrome-52650-PK/203124916
  12. The more this drags on, the less I care about it. I wonder how many other people are like me and find themselves losing interest. That could really work out in Watson's favor. If he doesn't get a criminal conviction, he could more easily get a job when this has ended.
  13. Sometime in the 90s, my wife's cousin was carjacked. The carjackers couldn't drive a manual, so they shot her cousin to death. They were caught and convicted. Her uncle goes to every parole board hearing to try and keep them locked up for good.
  14. He had 40%, his mom and sister have some too. They should go the EPL route and call themselves Washington FC. Forget the nickname.
  15. So this pussy couldn't even do a handbrake turn? Pfft, what a loser.
  16. I don't know anything other than your usual message board crap. Buncha goobers waxing poetically about Brad Stevens and how "It's gonna happen!!". Honestly reminds me of this place during the Urban situation. I give it a 5% chance of happening.
  17. Accuser #3 said she was so fucked up by his assault that she blacked out and shit her pants. Would you be excited to talk about that with some cops? I can't even imagine how I would feel after that. Watson doesn't seem like the type of guy to do something like this but I don't know him from anything other than canned responses to reporters. Right now I think it's 70/30 bullshit. But who knows?
  18. He claimed he wouldn't put any money into a buyout or a new coach. He's given plenty to IU, he has his name on a building or something.
  19. Not even at that level. Sadly, it was Ice, Ice Baby. But it made my Ford Tempo seem pretty cool (to me, not anyone else).
  20. In regards to Brad Stevens, one guy with supposed insider news put it this way: "The last time IU knocked on his door, no one answered. This time when IU knocked, they not only answered but invited them in.". They'd have to offer him 7MM/yr at least, not sure if he even wants to leave the NBA. But you don't get boosters to drop 10s of millions for a buyout and a new contract just to hire some up and comer. They've got to be aiming high. Beilein is too old IMO, would've been a great choice 10 years ago. I've always liked Musselman. Stevens is my #1 choice, though. Make him say "No".
  21. Sorry, I didn't mean the admin has no patience, I mean the boosters, etc. They irrationally think IU should be in the Elite Eight every year. It's a grinder of a job, why do it if you have no connections and already make good money? I just don't think he sees an upside to leaving TT for Bloomington.
  22. I can't see Beard leaving TT. He's spent 15 years of his life there, has family there. Why uproot for a rebuild job in a place that has no patience for a rebuild? Unless he's a masochist.
  23. As a long-time IU fan, my knee jerk reaction is to say that the IU administration could fuck up a wet dream and to prepare for the worst. However, the new AD is an alum and has worked for IU his entire life, also won a ring in '87 as a BB student manager. He got FB coach Tom Allen a well deserved (IMO) raise. Maybe he's the one to get this shit straightened out.
  24. I'd record the same song 3-4 times in a row, so I wouldn't have to rewind the tape when driving around town.
  25. I can remember sometime in the late 80s saying "CDs are a fad, they won't last". Feel free to ask me for gambling tips and stock advice, I obviously know what's what.
