  1. Ain’t enough rage emoticons for what I’m feeling.
  2. My parents lost my brother at 17 to a car accident. I was 3. It was a divisive event that would echo for decades in my parents’ relationship, as the loss of a child often does. Please seek support not only for yourself but the whole family. It will be awful facing raw emotions to be sure, but honestly there’s no escaping that anyway. Best wishes for hope and healing to you all.
  3. Is it too much to hope that these artifacts have embedded RFID?
  4. 'What's the right amount of coke to snort before a deposition?'
  5. He doesn't seem very proud of the Proud Boys.
  6. This is profoundly important. Trump is a charlatan, a transparent demagogue. As much as Trump would disagree, these are a dime a dozen. Their power is not being great but convincing you that they are. We’ve got to get better at this. Naming the untruths before us a necessary 1st step.
  7. SIAP but does the current impeachment effect Trump’s pardon power? It would be hi-larious if he was unable to pardon himself, the kids and Putin as planned.
  8. Something had to go when the Masked Singer update segments were added.
  9. Per usual, the most salient both-siderism comes from Trump’s mouth.
  10. Lawmakers were told that the plot to encircle the Capitol also included plans to surround the White House ― so that no one could harm Trump ― and the Supreme Court, simply to shut down the courts. The plan to surround the Capitol includes assassinating Democrats as well as Republicans who didn’t support Trump’s effort to overturn the election ― and allowing other Republicans to enter the building and control government.
  11. Here we are. I find myself nostalgic for the days that right wing violence could be referred to as “extremist”. It’s closer to “mainstream” on the continuum though we may quibble about where exactly.
  12. Totally ignored his demands for sous vide as well, the bastards.
  13. They did see it coming. We all saw it coming. It was the ‘admitting as a nation that what your eyes are seeing and ears are hearing is problematic’ part that we couldn’t master. Largely because of virulent propaganda that became entrenched over decades. Better deal with the poisonous well that folks keep drinking from or nothing changes.
  14. Can they handle this on their own? I don't believe that. The party abandoned ideology in favor of Trump fealty long ago. Never bet a trend will end. The GOP already crossed the point of no return. Ironically, it is incapable of genuinely acting on behalf of "America First". Party ranks over everything else. These are painful truths.
  15. You may remember AZ Rep Paul Gosar’s family speaking out against his candidacy last fall. He’s obviously still held in high esteem.
  16. Thanks for sharing that. For me it was a reminder that I'm not crazy, at least with respect to imagining the political madness we've lived as a nation. I have thought and said many of the very same things. I did have to laugh at the Tubervillle blind side personal foul snuck in late in the piece.
  17. The sentiment expressed in your final sentence is what concerns me. We ARE taking them lightly unless this cancer is aggressively rooted out at all levels. It won’t be. Mere awareness is long overdue but far from enough.
  18. Has some enterprising person assembled a state-by-state analysis of origin for arrested and/or identified insurrectionists? It seems like Tennessee is going hard but I don’t want to sell anyone short.
