Yeah, I didnt really wanna go there after two games but she will have to play differently with Paige there now.

I'm seeing some "they won't be good till after you're gone" tweets popping off and I want to disagree...but can't.

Precisely, hard to justify dumping one of the best players to wear your gear.   Especially after two games but they wont do a thing with her playing like she is on a team by herself.

Maybe she will ask out and make it easy on them if she doesnt want to change.

Good for them but still such a waste to not connect them to the Nets and share facilities instead of spending $100 million on a practice facility

Amazing how some of you act like it's your money they are spending.  LOL

Not about the money. The name recognition of tying them to a city/NBA team is free publicity, easy for the fans etc.

What does a new practice facility provide other than a real estate investment?

Perks like that are a FA draw.   Especially given that the salaries that teams can offer are not very different, perks can make the difference in a player's decision.

They are already tied to the city in their name and the fact that they play in Barclay's Center.    They are one of the original teams in the league and have their own name/identity.

When Texas was in the big 12 they subsidized your irrelevant ass school. Didn't hear you crying about that though.

Both schools belong to the State of Texas.  Neither has jack shit to do with the WNBA.

Yikes 0-12 from Angel last night and Kamilla seemed totally out of it.  Don't blame her as she KNOWS she's the better player taking a back seat to the bigger mouth.

When Angel, or her damn team, realizes she's a Draymond-light, or Noah, type player...good rebounder, defensive anchor type, and NOT the focal point of an offense, or even top 3, they'll be SO much better off.

so chennedy carter is out of the league now? what’s up with that?

She's a horrible teammate and teams/players can't overlook her off court/locker room issues even for her talent.

WNBA has concluded it's investigation into the racism charge towards the Indiana fans and found that nothing could be corroborated or substantiated.

99% of the time this stuff is bullshit and with Reese it is 100%.    you would think the refs who are standing next to players on the court would hear something and I can imagine players on the bench for Indiana would even get pissed if they heard racist shit being directed at any player.

this is all to force Clark to have to keep responding and deal with it.

Chi-town Barbie?

Yes she's considered attractive.  And she's not ugly at all...but there are some angles, and some pics, where she looks wild.

One of the best commercials Nike has ever done and Nike has some of the greatest sport commercials of all time.

There’s a line in there, “they said she wasn’t good enough.”

Wilson was the national HS player of the year, 3x SEC player of the year,  3x consensus All-American, NCAA player of the year, 1st round draft pick, 3x WNBA player of the year.  Literally her entire  playing career has consisted of absolutely everyone affirming that she is absolutely good enough.

Funny how you all nitpick shit like this LOL   MJ was getting inducted into the HOF and he was still talking about how he didnt make his HS varsity team as a sophomore.

Every great player talks about some slight (or perceived slight) they encountered along their way and it becomes a part of their story

He did. My own opinion is that most high-level athletes can seamlessly switch between “they all give me their best shot cause I am the champ” and “they are disrespecting me.” Whatever is needed at the moment. I am nitpicking Nike and not AW here, though. I think it’s fair to call out massive publicly traded companies when you see logical failures in their PR. It’s not an insult to AW.

CC reminds me of MJ and Bird because she absolutely plays with a hard edge. However, it is so controlled and strategic and targeted that causal fans don’t notice and even sophisticated fans can justify it.  She’s not ever dirty or out of control. She’s surgical with it.

And onto the motivation, I don’t mean to suggest she is not emotional or driven.  Rather- she has the capacity to really master the “disrespect” or “best shot” emotions and deploy them when needed for her purposes.  It’s a remarkable skill that you saw with a player like MJ, who knew full well that everyone respected him but could convince himself otherwise.

People like Clark are seriously impressive and scary.  I think she could be something like an old-school test pilot or a F1 driver if she didn’t dedicate herself to basketball. That’s why she’s a transformative player and not just a great one.

What was the slight against Aja?
