This is an issue for all the pitchers.  They don't change speeds for strikes enough.  You have to have that threat unless you throw upper 70s.

LOL. There are literally about 10 women in the entire world who can touch 75 on the radar gun.

They wont. You are overrating them when we are throwing our worst pitchers tonight. We will not be relying on BigMac or Cambria at all when it counts in the postseason. It will be the Kavan and Citlaly show. What an absolute failure Morgan has been this year, she should be embarrassed.

She ate her way out of the rotation. Mike remembered her shutting the ags down last year and trotted her out there. He should have made a move after the 3rd batter when it was only 0-3

Mac had one pitch, the drop ball. When the ags showed they could lay off the low ball Mike should’ve made the change. She is throwing batting practice at that point.

Agree, but MM has always been a dropball pitcher.  She used to be able to throw it reliably for a strike at the knees, so you couldn't just lay off. She had the lowest WHIP on the team last year, even with only one deadly pitch.  But that's gone now.

On a more macro level, how has the staff not worked with her in 3 years to develop a decent rise to pair with her dropball?  If you take Kennedy at TAMU, by contrast, she came into college as a pretty standard lefty curve ball pitcher.  But now she has a full arsenal of pitches and just got drafted into proball.

Every single bit of this. If this team doesn't shape up pronto (highly unlikely) and then, come fall, have much better talent at several positions (besides Vivi) and better coaching, we might realize Mike White is just a much more likable Tom Herman. By that I mean way better than the previous HC, but not the ultimate answer as a roster builder, tactician or leader. Although I'm honestly not sure who out there would be.

This is categorically incorrect. Mike White is a top 5 coach in the country. His record proves that. 6 of our 9 hitters are elite and Kavan is a true ace. Mac ate her way out of effectiveness, Citlaly has always been a 3, but is now forced into the 2 spot thanks to Mac and Cambria is a highly rated freshman, who everyone in the country recruited. The loss of ViVi changed the entire lineup, defensively and offensively as well. Katie Bennett is a pinch runner if ViVi stays healthy. They shit the bed last night, and I am worried they peaked to early, but the season ain’t over yet.

Even the announcers were shocked she wasn’t getting the low strike call.

Tech up 3-0 on Arizona in the 2nd of the XII tournament final on espn.  The announcers said tech hasn't given up a run yet in the tournament.

Funny that they're still playing in okc...although it's actually good it's a neutral site now I guess.

It’s really the most sense. Campus site attendance would be awful. Oklahoma people still love their softball and they have an excuse to be at whatever the fuck they named ASA Hall of Fame Stadium

I’m not joking. Mac, Mia, Cit, Stewie all look noticeably bigger. Reese has always been a string bean for a catcher and TK is slim

I get it Vivi is good but some of these talking points are painting her like she was Vince young or Colt McCoy. Yes she was a top 5 player on this team but to say she would’ve saved us from all of the problems this team has showed all year is pretty crazy.

No matter how good Vivi was she had nothing to do with pitching and the downward spiral they have had the last three years, or how some of our hitters (Stewie) has regressed

I do believe MW is a top coach but I also believe he got complacent, he didn’t go after better coaches, better players or better development and if he’s the coach he should’ve said something if Mac and others are eating their way to the bench. One thing that caught my attention was how the announcers mentioned how the A&M players stayed all summer because they were on a mission. Why is that not Texas!? What did we win for us to feel like we made it?? Yes that’s on the players but ultimately that’s the coach. Sark demands excellence and always mentions how he has that fire because we haven’t won shit at Texas even though we’ve made the final four two years in a row. Just my thoughts

yes he went after the Stanford Pitcher but it was also other great players out there and we’ definitely could’ve did better than Katie Bennett. I love how Sark approaches it - yea even though we have good players you still go out and try to recruit the best because you never know what can happen. (Injuries, transfers, Etc)

The Vivi loss was to me catastrophic. The self-destruction of Mac (and maybe we could include Simpson) hasn't been as impactful, but it's hurt us week after week. Seems they and Cit, to some extent, have in turn hurt Kavan. Terrible cascading effect, especially facing SEC competition every week. Maybe White just hasn't had pitching options he trusts enough to pull girls as quickly as some other HCs at top programs do. If that's true, can't say I blame him. But in the end, I assume all HCs (great career records or not) would say the buck stops with them on everything.

Like every other Texas fan, I'm desperately hoping we find our way out of this dark maze pronto and that it's a positive springboard for 2026, no matter exactly when 2025 ends.

I think Mike now has a better idea of what the SEC grind is like. Same with Gasso - their pitching still struggled, but their offense remains elite. And even then, they had their own offensive struggles at time

I don’t care, go drop a bag at a pitching coach from a top program

Tech wins B12 regular season and conference championship tournament over Arizona.  $1M plus and NIL to other transfers brings success.

Regardless,  I like and respect Glasco,  happy for him.

Would have been nice to have Canady

Mike needs to go back to the softball BMDs now and be like “I need the money, see what happens?”

Early this spring I heard him say (I think on Coffee & Football) that there was a concern about signing Canady for big money when we already had a budding ace in TK and good team chemistry to protect. Yes, hindsight is 20/20, but I wonder if we now shift our perspective. Not that we'd necessarily have won the Canady bidding war last offseason, but maybe we push harder to find true difference makers.

Hope so. I know the team chemistry and TK being an ace thing.

Nothing says "this tournament is irrelevant and shouldn't be played" quite like "it's going to rain today, so we just cancelled the championship game."

If the championship is so unimportant, why make everyone fly out to Georgia to play to try to get there?
