I wouldn't be in a big hurry to extend Peña based on a huge one year outlier.

Like Springer he's also going to hit FA on the wrong side of 30.

Still pissed about Correa and Tucker though.

Why? Pena has slaughtered him in WAR. 17.4 to 10.3 while costing less than $133M in salary.

This is why I would move Alvarez in the off-seaon, shit I would try to move him at the trade deadline if I could. He's never playing 145+ games consistently, and your franchise GOAT needs to transfer to the Paul Molitor role on the team.

He's signed through 2028 and you want to get rid of him now?

"The Houston Astros and Jeremy Peña were reportedly in serious contract extension talks for a deal exceeding $105 million over 5 years. However, Peña recently switched agents to Scott Boras, and those negotiations are now on hold. The Astros had been discussing a deal with Peña, who is in the midst of a career year, before he hired Boras."

That would have been a nice contract for him, but I guess the appeal of hiring Boras and holding out for a 1 year 25m deal in 2027 is just too good to pass up.

Fuck walker!

I was pissed at first, but looking at the replay holding the runner was the best thing he could do. If he goes to get the the out, the runner scores

King also didn't do his job. He covers 1st, it is an out.

And the reverse jinx for the win there.

Houdini'd his way out of a mess of his own creation.

I mean- a line drive- a roller that was a little unlucky on placement and an infield hit. Not horrible pitching to load the bases.
