I meant on offense. Stretch big with a weird frame but if he’s not making the defense honest with his 3 pt shot, what does he add on offense?

He had a rough night offensively last night but in the playoffs he's slashing 44/38/81 for 17 ppg. Sure you'd like his FG to be higher but those are very good numbers. He doesn't turn the ball over and he's decent on the offensive glass.

J Will for comparison is 48/27/62 for 21 ppg. More dimes, obviously.

There's no reason Chet shouldn't or can't be their 2nd best player. They need him to be more dialed in than he was last night but he isn't the dude that went 5 for 20.

Don't you try to make me like you, Stars fan.

Spurs fan here. Can't stand OKC. Never have. Never will. The Nuggets weren't any good the last time the Spurs were so the enemy of my enemy is my friend!

(Plus, I hope it helps remove some of your bad feels from the Stars series.)

I think part of it is OKC doesn’t really have any bigs defenders that wear on you like the Clips and Wolves have. Easier to run when you’re not getting bodied constantly.

Yeah, I think people really underestimate Zubac's effect on the last series.  He's one of the few bigs in the league that can effectively bang with Jokic.

On the flip side, Denver played pretty well, OKC did not late and it still took a miracle for Denver to win.  Also, can Denver hold up playing like that every other night just seven guys?

Murray shot 37% from the field and MPJ (who has a badly sprained left shoulder) was 1 for 8 from the field.  Even Jokic was barely above 50% from the floor.  They rebounded well and played solid defense, but I wouldn't say they played well.

They've played with a short bench the entire season.

This. The Nuggets far from played their best game. We rebounded much better than expected, but I think part of that is OKCs team allowing it. Against the Clips in game 7, we shot 38% from 3. If we shoot a similar % and play similar D and rebounding to game 1, even with the turnovers we’ll be in every game. Last night shot 31% from 3, but we shot 8-17 in the second half which made the comeback possible.

Really want to see less turnovers, because the Nuggets made it much harder on themselves than it needed to be last night. Even Jokic had a handful of bad TO’s. Murray just playing a decent game would be a massive help. He needs to thank Russ and CB today. Also loved Russ playing most of the 4th with MPJ sitting. If MPJ ain’t shooting well, that’s the move every night.

That said, Nuggets win game 2 and I see the series as over. Nuggets have the benefit of their home games being on more fan’s drinking nights/times: Friday night (G3), Sunday early afternoon (G4), Thursday night (G6). The crowd will be insane Friday night regardless, but a chance to go up 3-0, it will be dummy loud.

Fuck, forgot about all the turnovers, too.  Nuggets turned the ball over 18 times last night, which is WAAAY too many.  OKC only had 9.

Vic Lombardi said MPJ's shoulder is so bad he needs help getting his jersey on and off. I'm not sure how much he's gonna contribute but he's tough as shit being out there at all.

Lol y'all are acting like OKC doesn't force turnovers or poor shots. Nuggets aren't going to shoot 40% from 3 every game and commit less than 10 turnovers. This isn't a good matchup series for Murray and MPJ is MPJ.

I think Westbrook is a bit of an x-factor this series. He and Gordon last night were huge.

Never said that. Of course they do.  Just refuting the 'Denver played well and barely won' narrative.  Nuggets can play much better than that.

They definitely force turnovers, but I know you watched the game and saw a number of unforced turnovers on Denver’s part. Goal should be to commit no more than 10.

Not saying we need to shoot 40% from 3 to win. Last night was 31% for the game and Murray didn’t give us much at all and still won with 18 turnovers.

Between both of the teams, my homer goggles say the biggest problem is OKC’s rebounding. Every single Nugget that played last night had at least one offensive rebound: AG 7, Jokic 5, Braun 4. We’re not used to having that many second chance opportunities, but will gladly take them if OKC doesn’t want to prioritize crashing the boards on D.

Nuggets and Adelman going to make some solid adjustments for game 2

OKC threw a bunch of different looks at Jokic, and he will be better prepared.

Passing lanes are smaller, and no more lazy passes around the perimeter or into the post.

Peyton Watson gave some solid minutes so that should continue. Has the size to stay on OKC bigs.

Jamal Murray and MPJ hopefully show a pulse to ease the burden on Jokic.
