I've been told a lot of scuttlebutt gets shared at the bar at Pluckers.

Guess he brought his custom, steel reinforced barstool for them to keep in the back

Not strictly transfer related, but significant roster news

Sure. But not top of the chart and that’s not breaking the bank.

Feels like 10M ought to make us all happy. If Wingo goes I know he’s got a big price tag so if you get Coleman you use his money to sign 2 additional Mosley types.

If 10M is a problem then strip off all the guys at 2nd string making anything of importance and get a bunch of 5th year dudes from the sun belt. Tell them you will pay them in pussy. Pussy for life if they win it all.

We got Al Swearengen running NIL now.

Lil something I don't think you realize. Saying you know anything that Ketch says, kinda calls ypur judgment and intelligence into question.

Its worse that quoting....Chip Brown

I assumed my posting here already made that clear.

Maybe we just pay brown to return kicks and punts. We're Texas. Lol

I mean, is it? Ketch is a scumbag that stole from charity. Chip brown takes money to write hit pieces for rivals to pay off bar tabs and gambling debts.

Hard to call ketch worse.

IMO stealing from charitable organizations is worse than being a gambling drunk that needs to payoff debts. You also have to factor in how big of a fucking moron Ketch is.

I love Bobby as a lead voice covering Texas, but I don’t always agree with him.

This part of your post makes me wonder how much "false interest" gets leaked to $9.95ers as a smokescreen during portal time???

Hopefully let other teams get fooled by false $9.95er portal recruiting reports while Texas quietly signs their most coveted portal players...

You didn't see him before he got hurt. He tore his achilles before his true freshman season.

He meant his roster photo wasn’t very good and the injury has made him even less photogenic.

Ha. Despite him being a pretty highly ranked recruit with good offers, I wasn’t very excited about his high school film as compared to others. Or his high school prom photo.

did not like the way this post began...

Doesn’t feel pertinent to this thread. He’s not transferring. Should be in the 2026 roster thread

A sizeable group of 'first day on the internet' morons at OTF seem to think that if Wingo isn't back, the reason will be because fans were mean to him on message boards.

Christian Clark wasn't a highly ranked recruit at all. Had some great offers though. Choice got in on him early and had him sold as a 1B back in the class with Gibson.

We passed on either Taylor Tatum or Jordon Davison to prioritize him.

From what I recall on Davison is that Oregon came in with a huge offer.

Bobby knows his audience.

I like the OTF guys but their core audience is pretty much the "Its still real to me dammit!" wrestling meme personified.

I didn't watch any Louisville games so full disclaimer there, but Brown averaged >5ypc every game except one (Pitt) this year. Keyjuan Brown was their next highest carrier (5 fewer than Isaac) and he also had an impressive 7.3 ypc.

He also averaged 7 ypc last year as a true freshman on 165 carries with only 3 games <5 ypc (and in two of those he only had 2 and 3 carries). 7.6 and 150 yards vs Clemson, 6.8 and 178 vs Kentucky, 117 vs SMU.

Again, I won't claim to be an expert but the numbers don't look like feeding off junk food to me.

If you’re going to cite stats, have the appropriate context. Clemson and Kentucky last season were not good defenses. Hell, we played both of them and you should have seen it with your own eyes. Louisville as a team rushed for almost 400 yards against UK. He had a good game against SMU. I’m not saying he’s dogshit, I’m saying the numbers aren’t telling the whole truth, neither is the 2025 Miami game, but that’s all most people are going off of to convince themselves that this guy could be RB1.

Maybe he turns over a new leaf with his vaginal behavior at a new school. Or maybe a school thinks they’re answering their RB prayers in getting him and, it turns out, that will only be true when he feels like playing.

A few years ago I started mentally tracking RB’s who had been thru ACL and Achilles surgeries, partially because I’ve been through two acl surgeries myself.

I noticed a very clear trend of much better performance in the 2nd or 3rd year after coming back, as compared to the first year. The Cowboys Williams is an example of that, who finally looked good again in year three.

Along those same lines, those that didn’t comeback strong by year three were permanently worse.

Don’t know if we are seeing that 2 year performance bump with Clark, but he looked like a completely different player. What I can’t reconcile is that before he got hurt he didn’t look very good.

The guy was recruited by a ton of blue bloods because he looked great in HS. He didn’t play in CFB before getting hurt heading into his freshman year last year. Is your contention that he didn’t look good in HS based off of personal film study or are you just thinking of another player?

Are these the same mods who said OU had the greatest ever OL, or nah?

Sooners Illustrated or whatever is the 24/7 site I have access to, and those mods spend occasional time trying to be realistic and objective. SoonerScoop is the more popular site and has the true mouthbreathing mods who have no objectivity. Those guys, along with former players and current dipshits Teddy Lehman and Gabe Ikard, are the guys pumping sunshine every preseason. They’re all the guys claiming that the 2025 OU OL was going to win the Joe Moore Award. Whoops.

Davison was taken off the market by an offer way out of the realm of sensible. Tatum wanted to play baseball as well and that was a no-go for Choice. Tatum is a bust with concussion issues at OU and Davison looks like he could be worth it eventually for Oregon. I wouldn’t say Texas really “passed” on either in terms of simply preferring Clark to them.

Catch the fucking ball and we wouldn't be talking shit. You're making as much as like 20 of our kids'/grandkids' schoolteachers for one year, catch the ball.

My point was that his production hasn't just been from a couple games. It has been consistently good against pretty much anyone they played over two seasons. In 22 career games, he's been over 5ypc in 18 of them (8 this year). By comparison, Wisner and Baxter had 3 such games combined this year (including Baxter's 1 carry for 6 yards vs UTEP). Is Louisville's schedule the toughest? No. But you could say the same or more for Smothers and Hawkins.

The bigger yellow flag to me is that Louisville's other backs have been extremely productive too. That points to a damn good run scheme that probably makes all of them look better than they might actually be. And I assume he isn't a great short-yardage option either.

As for any injury/vaginal issues, I won't claim to know one way or the other. That would not be ideal if true but could still be ok as part of a two-headed attack.
