UNC's McDuffie choking the game away just like he did yesterday.

To be fair, it started with an error by Van De Brake the negated a double play.

WTF is all these commercials from the NCAA demonizing people harassing college students/players?  Maybe that’s a thing because of today’s sports betting, but give me a MFng break.  Those accused need to stop ASAP.

They are kids and playing a sport they love and work their ass off for!

Hook’em!!!

I’m not gonna argue with you in this thread but I’ll just say, UTSA is still playing, won 45 games, only lost 4 conference games and won every game they played against us. Your comparison to Mizzou is clown shit. Your comparison to MLB baseball is even more so.

If we were “better” then they wouldn’t have kicked our ass every chance they got.

Good day.

Yep.  I wonder if some on this board realize they are taking the Balcones point of view now that he is gone.

I know ppl and kids on the utsa squad and believe me , playing and beating a state of texas team in texas gets much more attn than ucla in California when you're playing with house money. example like texas goes up 6-1 and utsa fights its way back to win. now utsa goes down to ucla and gets retired 16 out of 17 to end game. its baseball but also human nature. fuck it all tho and im rooting for the birds anyway. my daughter graduated from there. Utsa vs murray for the trophy would be cool.

So it’s your contention that they would have won the sec by 4 games?

Probably not but maybe?  They're 19 in rpi so I think it's possible.

Someone should tell those Louisville ball girls sitting in those miniskirts that their panties are getting some ESPN coverage. Or not.

Or, hear me out on this, UCLA pitching was significantly better than UT pitching (and I actually spoke with a coach, this beating UT is bigger than UCLA is simply not true).  They have the chance to go to Omaha, they aren’t basking in their UT dominance, they can’t afford to.

Ok, I'll bite. By what metric was UCLA pitching "significantly better?" Certainly not team ERA.

Wow, the Balcones is strong today.  UTSA came back and got to UT pitching to the tune of three wins in three games.  They could not do that against UCLA yesterday.  It’s not difficult to see that UCLA’s pitching was better.

so the very best outcome, seed wise, is we will see 15, 13, 8, 6 and 3 and three unranked teams.

The worst outcome will be 14, 13, 9, and five unranked teams.

I don’t see UCLA losing to UTSA and I don’t see LSU losing at home.

Still, while the SEC had more of them, being a highly ranked turned out to be very unlucky for everyone this year.

Did you mean in the one game UTSA played against UCLA? I might have misunderstood.

Yes.  It is the only common comparison.  Sorry, didn’t mean to be snippy, it just seems like a handful on the board are starting from the premise that “UT is better, so what happened?”  I think it is fairly obvious that is a flawed premise.

We didn’t have our ace against UTSA.  Would’ve been harder for them to come back if we did.

im not saying they're  basking in beating texas. im talking about human nature of a team playing with house money after doing something unexpected. I feel we were a much better pitching team than ucla , we were a terrible situational pitching team. middle relief was a crapshoot most of the year. either way, the best team doesn't always win in a tournament setting and good on utsa to take advantage. no hate here just pissed off at the way it ended.

It’s defense, not pitching

They are pro athletes getting paid to switch schools at the drop of the hat. I agree people need to cut that shit out because even the pros don't deserve it, but the "They are kids and playing a sport they love and work their ass off for!" angle is long gone. They are pro athletes and will be treated like pro athletes.

Unexpected by some fans, perhaps.  They beat UT three times.  It was not unexpected by them.
